Trout would probably be one of the few cases I’d sell low on Manoah. Obviously would still require money coming back but having 80 games of Trout (2-3 wins) is enough to offset the potential loss of a 2/3 SP.

Stick him in LF/DH and maybe even get KK back on the guarantee that he will still likely get close to full time duties with Springer/Trout needing load management.

I'd take Trout in a heartbeat . Have to think some of his injuries are freak accidents and I could care less about his salary.. Roger's has the money. Ryu being gone would cover over half his cost alone... chance he wants to move his family to Canada? That's another question.

Trout is 6'2 235 pounds and for a decade has played with EXTREME explosiveness at a demanding position (CF). What exactly makes you think that his injuries are "freak accidents"? He is 32 years old and his body is very likely breaking down on him.

This is a very silly take because unfortunately it is very likely that his contract will become a big problem in the near future. His build is very similar to someone like Ken Griffey Jr. Go and take a look at Griffey Jr's career post ~32 years old. I'm not saying that Trout is going to be that snake-bitten, but to pretend like his injuries are a non-concern is incredibly silly.

Griffey hit well north of .900 OPS at ages 33 and 35 and was an all-star at 34 and 37.

Moving Springer to a corner position did wonders for his durability - doing the same for Trout may pay dividends as well.

How on earth is Manoah going to get us Trout?

Because I dont pay his salary and I am purely a fan. I dont need to manage the non existent salary cap, sure not all his injuries are of a freak nature I will take that. I would take all the risk of having a legend like that in a Jays uniform. I would take Trout over Ryu and Springer, is all i am saying. In reality it has about a 1% chance he would even want to come here anyways.

I think the Angels are a year late on moving Trout for a big return. If they sold him last offseason they would have net a better return.

Trout is an interesting short term gamble though. You get him for his 32.5-33.0, 33.5-34.0, 34.5-35.0 seasons. You might get something out of him at 35.5-36.0. Beyond that, you are with him for his 36.5, 37.5, 38.5 seasons and it’s totally up in the air to everyone with his how his body will age - but you have to mitigate and prepare for a huge decline. Nobody on here can predict how his body will age, but one would expect you would get 3 years of good production if he can stay healthy and then a big decline at some point. He’s not worth 250 m imo. Given the injuries and age, I would value him closer to 150 m but he's on a 245 m contract.

Year 1: 40-45 m
Year 2: 35 m
Year 3: 30 m
Year 4: 25 m
Year 5: 15-20 m
Year 6: 0-10
Year 7: 0 ?

Does anyone know what’s up with Bohrofen? He hasn’t played in over a week. I thought maybe they’d promote him to Vancouver as Goodwin got promoted but they sidelined 2 outfielders and Bohrofen just hasn’t played anywhere since. Is he injured? Just shut down for the season for some reason?
