Soto is a corner outfield right? We would be a little thin at CF if we move Varsho for the days when Kiermaier is out and he’s going to be 34 soon, but for Soto I would do it and figure something out at CF.

He is so it isnt an ideal trade and probably doesnt happen as i dont see SD giving up.
 
What happened to the Mets and Padres this first half of the season? Injuries? Underperforming? Surprised to see both 5 games below .500

Combination. For the Mets it was also that they put their money into a roster than was a thousand years old and that didn't go well.

Mets: Pitching. Senga has been solid, but Verlander and Scherzer have underperformed (but maybe expected given their age) and guys like Carrasco, Megill, and Peterson have really shat bed. Megill and Peterson should be a lot better than this for sure. Their bullpen also sucks.

Padres: Bad luck perhaps?? Offense has been solid and rotation has been pretty good. Have to think they'll make a run in the second half if they keep it up
