The tank is officially over. We beat the mighty Washington Capitals.
Not quite but it does go to show that like last year it will be tough to be in the bottom as we are far from the only team that just isn't particularly good.

This.

And while it's far too early to draw concrete conclusions, at the 5% season mark :naughty:, the Habs are better than most had them pegged, and this with Dach & Guhle going down & Monty struggling in his first 2 starts.

Will be interesting to see where they are at by the 1/4 mark.

I said the same thing last year but it really feels like half the league sucks ass nowadays, hard to tell where this season is going.

We should be a bottom 5 team but there's always something in the way, last year it was the AHL scrub squad playing the best hockey of their life for a few weeks and ruining the tank. It's still early though, we'll see. I won't lose my sanity just yet.

We've already lost arguably our best player in Dach and the season just started, so we're bound to see more miss some time. Not that i'm wishing it but it's inevitable. Top 5 pre-lottery is realistic

Should be solidly bottom 5 or 6. This team blows, home wins against the mighty Blackhawks and Caps don't mean much.

San Jose and Chicago will be on another level of suckage. Anaheim should still be worse than us too. Positive signs for the tank are CBJ, Arizona and Philly all have winning records.

Only thing i could see affect the tank, is if Roy comes in hot and the top line really heats up with him or Monahan on it.

They are 1 pt better than expected. They got a point against Toronto. Chicago and Washington are bad teams so you would expect the Habs to win against those teams occasionally

We honestly can’t catch a break. Wether it’s staying healthy, drafting, or tanking. Statistically? We are due for at least some luck.

Trade deadline:

Monahan for a 1st.
Savard for a 2nd.
Allen for a 2nd/3rd.

Pearson for a 2nd.

I'm curious who we move at the deadline this year, or even before the deadline. I wonder if a guy like Anderson is on the trade block too.

Obviously above is a dream scenario for what we might get from a team. I think Armia and Gallagher contracts are untradeable, but Hugo did manage to move Hoffmann.

That's why I'm completely ambivalent now. They're going to shoot themselves in the foot one way or another.

Dach isn't our best player lol, not even close.

What’s the alternative option tho? We have no way to not finish at the bottom standings. The team was burnt to the ground and is still nowhere near close to being cleaned up.
