I get that you don't want to become Buffalo and cycle through coaches - but holy f*** Warsofsky is actively making this team worse than last season.
I'll give him a mulligan for this game given that the team played way better than I expected they could. But I would want to see them continue to look better than they looked before the break before I believe his changes made a difference.

Damn, Kunin gave up a wide open look from the boards? That's inexcusable. Everyone knows a point shot from 50 feet out is the most dangerous chance in hockey.

Can you tell me why Kunin after his laughable effort to clear the puck slowly drifts to the congested slot like a moron rather than bust his ass to pursue the puck and his man and challenge the shot?

I for one like Warso’s style.

We tried Celebrini out first, edge of your seat hockey, have an actual chance at winning (which is bad for Schaefer), or losing fast, like ripping off a bandaid.

Today, toss out some random shit, let us watch, see we don’t have a chance, brace for losing slowly. No racing heart rate, no semi-chubby, just good old fashioned watching the other team cycle us to death. It’s sort of the difference between dying in a fighter jet vs dying in a submarine. Celebrini is - SHIT! He’s got tone, break right, flairs, flairs, flairs! Boom, dead. Tonight with Wennberg, Ferraro, and Graf it’s - torpedo in the water, 1000m away. It has acquired us. It’s active. 900m

Anyone with a brain could see that unless they're willing to go mano-a-mano offensively whomever else they sent out was going to get torched by Winnipeg's guns. What's the point of having your best players if you're too afraid of using them in situations where they need to be your best players? It's 3 on 3. Sink or swim, don't just tread water for 5 minutes.
It's okay to attempt to trust others in these sorts of situations too considering where they're at as a team. Warsofsky has used their best players plenty of times in overtime. Sometimes, the better team gets it done. It's a coaching error to start Ferraro regardless but trying to get a better matchup for Celebrini and Eklund makes sense too considering what they're up against. Just didn't work out for them. But again, Warsofsky is a rookie NHL coach at a young age. He's going to learn some tough lessons just like the players. Plenty of veteran retread coaches make baffling decisions like this too. They were competitive with the best team in the West on the road in a back-to-back. Yeah, Vanecek had a great performance but the coach will get some credit for holding the Jets to 1 goal in regulation on 33 shots. It's an ugly game but they had a pretty solid defensive game too. Can't ignore that just because the result went south on them.

If anything that's on Sturm for getting picked by Ehlers but regardless you give up that shot from the boards every time. Morrissey got lucky.

Sorry, I don't agree. If you wanna justify the choices on the draw to counter the Jets winning the draw then fine, but once they had possession it should have been a no-brainer.

Well, I've said already that I agree with the shift change after winning so I'm not arguing that. I just don't see it as some huge rage against the coach moment that it didn't play out that way.

Huge? No. But if he's not willing to sink or swim with his best players then what is he doing?

Our best players are just not very good compared to their counterparts on other teams, especially Winnipeg. It makes sense to save Celebrini and Eklund for when the Jets have to throw guys like Namestnikov and DeMelo over the boards. Unfortunately the OT didn't last that long.

He’s trying to win, but he doesn’t know how to do that with the current roster so he’s floundering.
If you're not putting either 71 or 72 out there then you're basically saying "Let's hold on some more and hope we get a chance" like the team did the entire third period. Putting non of his offensive weapons out there basically said "we don't want to change momentum"

So throw out Wennberg and Graf instead? I don't even understand the mindset. IS this a way to protect them? Why would Winnipeg throw out Namestikov and Demerol? Winnipeg gets the puck back, skate around for two minutes, tire our defenders out... game set match. When you have possession 3 on 3, you don't really have the time to play the match-up game, and if you do, you tire out the defenders on the ice.

The ot went 1 minute and 33 seconds, the way the final 3 minutes of regulation and ot went. Playing your not to win strategy with the 4th line starting means that celebrini and the likes won't ever get on the ice or even get a chance to play there 4th line.

And saying that celebrini and the top players can't match the jets top line or hang with them is insane for a reason to start players that 100% can't hang with that line and would get walked around defensively (like they did). At least celebrini could skate and keep up defensively if needed against them.

Another thing to add, this team will not progress from bottom feeder to contender unless the coach gives the players with the best chance to win the chances to win the games. We can't continue to play the game of playing it safe. We need to start taking chances to win with the actual talent we have. And yes we do have enough to win it in ot if they are given the chance.

They have been a lot more than they haven’t. The team just isn’t that good and most teams are getting better.

He thinks he’s doing the right thing to win. I guarantee that’s how he rationalizes his decisions.
He is big braining it, thinking he is smarter then 31 other coaches who know offense wins in 3 on 3. He thinks he is the only coach that knows if you play the 4th line in the 3 on 3 it gives you the best chance to win.
