Malkin! Whoo-Hooo! 2-2. ENG with 41 seconds left in game.

Edit:
Man, Pens sure are trying hard to give up a game winning goal to Florida in regulation.

Edit:
But, they don't! Phew. That one point means Montreal can catch them in points with a win tomorrow, but can't pass them due to more games played.

Edit:
OT!

What the hell was that pass, Karlsson! Geezus ...

Edit:
Eller just killed Guentzel with a slap shot late.

Edit:
Shoot-out.

That was an absolutely awful effort by Rakell.

Barkov scores. Pens have to score.... it's Guentzal. Yes!

Reinhart scores. Florida wins 3-2. Pens get a point.

Pens gonna come in tired tomorrow so another W is likely on the menu.

We will end up in a 3 way tie for 10-12 or something if we win. :amazed:

Well, Kraken - Blues game did go into OT, but Blues won. Blues are now 5 pts up. Seattle is 3 pts up on Montreal.

Sabres are in San Jose. Surely, they can beat the lowly Sharks. That game is at 4 pm.

Minnesota is at Anaheim. Again a team, the Wild should be able to beat.

Flames are at Chicago. Easy win Calgary. Let's go!

Those are teams we'll pass or gain ground on with a win by Montreal and a loss by one of those 3.

There are 2 teams, we can catch or get perilously close to, if they lose and Montreal wins. We'll catch Arizona who are in Carolina. Tough one for Coyotes. And, we'll get within one of Washington, who are at Dallas.

14 games today. Montreal doesn't play for 9 days after tonight. Ottawa actually has 2 games to play during Montreal's break, so they'll be down to only 2 games in hand. They host Rangers tonight, and Preds on Monday. Then are at Detroit next Wednesday. We need them to win at least 2 of the next 3 games.

If Celebrini is drafted by San Jose. Very high chance Anaheim and Columbus (50%) draft a Dman. Hard to say about Chicago. Ottawa will probably also draft a D.

We will probably end up with the second or third best forward of the 2024 draft.
Lindstrom is 100% an Anaheim type player. CBJ needs forwards too. I can see both of those team picking Lindstrom is available.

Desired results for today:
- MTL regulation loss to PIT: PIT reg. win moves them 4 pts ahead of MTL with 3 games in hand.
- BUF win vs. SJS: BUF win + MTL reg. loss = BUF moves 1 point ahead of MTL.
- CBJ win vs. VAN: CBJ win + MTL reg. loss = CBJ moves 6 pts behind MTL with 1 game in hand.
- OTT win vs. NYR: OTT win + MTL reg. loss = OTT move 7 pts behind MTL with 4 games in hand.
- ARI win vs. CAR: ARI win + MTL reg. loss = ARI moves 4 pts ahead of MTL with 1 game in hand.
- MIN win vs. ANA: MIN win + MTL reg. loss = MIN moves 2 pts ahead of MTL.
- CGY win vs. CHI: CGY win + MTL reg, loss = CGY moves 2 pts ahead of MTL.
- WSH win vs. DAL: WSH win + MTL reg. loss = WSH moves 5 pts ahead of MTL with 2 games in hand.
- NSH win vs. EDM: NSH win + MTL reg. loss = NSH moves 8 pts ahead of MTL.
- NJD win vs. TBL: NJD win + MTL reg. loss = NJD moves 6 pts ahead of MTL with 2 games in hand.
- NYI win vs. FLA: NYI win + MTL reg. loss = NYI moves 6 pts ahead of MTL.
- DET win vs. VGK: DET win + MTL reg. loss = DET moves 10 pts ahead of MTL.

*MTL's win last game moves them back ahead of BUF and to 26th place. If they lose and BUF wins, MTL will move back to 27th.*

No travel for the Pens though. Back to back not much of a factor.

They aren't very good either, so that could be the reason the Habs win

Yeah, Pens suck. Crosby & Guentzal are still good, but everyone else is fading. D is crap.

We might actually beat them.

Here
We’ve got to trade up if we aren’t high enough. I want one of Cellebrini, Lindstrom or Eiserman.
I’ve been drumming this beat for a while now; we need to go after sure fire picks before our time runs out and we only have picks that don’t hold much value (in the teens).

Hugo need to get it done.

Lots to trade with. Tons of picks - including two firsts next year. Matheson and a ton of blueline prospects. I’d keep Guehle, Mailloux, RB and Hutson. Any other blueliner or a combo of some would be available.

No one trades down from the top 10 unless it they are offered the moon.

I'll take some of the dmen and Demidov over Eiserman. Anyways, I don't think it's worth trading up if it's not Celebrini. In fact I'd entertain trading down if we win the 2nd OA but I know the Habs wouldn't and would just take Lindstrom.

Eiserman came into the draft challenging for the first slot. 2024 NHL Draft rankings: Two-horse race forming at the top - Yahoo Sports He hasn’t had a great year but the goals are there.

Again, can’t speak with authority on specific prospects but goal scores in general are the single most valuable asset you can have. So unless there are serious warts that can’t be overcome I’d put a priority on Eiserman. But here’s an article on the concerns: What’s the deal with Cole Eiserman’s fall down 2024 NHL Draft rankings? it makes me think of Bossy and Sakic - two guys who were drafted late because people overthought the weaknesses. I’m not saying that’s happening here - I’ve seen little if Eiserman - but it’s in the back of my mind.

I don’t think it makes any sense whatsoever to trade up for another blueliner.

I wouldn't, he's quite one dimensional. Goalscorers in this league are dynamic, being a dual threat helps you score a lot more.

It doesn't make sense to trade up for anyone not named Celebrini unless we win a lot of games.
