Last pick was at 1:23pm. How long are we giving MonctonScout?
Considering he was online at 7:37 PM... we shouldn't be giving him much longer. Hopefully we don't do a "specific pick" but more of a random generator pick with about 15-20 names, so it's more fair.

Unless overlords forgot to PM him? :P

If he pm'ed him though, he could have at least dropped in to say he'd make his pick later (time-frame).

I say we make our picks, and when he's around, he could still make his own pick.

My opinion would be to throw a page of names into a generator, get a selection, and use it.

Continue with the draft and if he returns and wants to change his pick, he can - but obvoiusly unable to use the picks after him.

I just did a random list generator - Maxim Letunov came on top. He's projected the 3rd/4th round. Up to Habsfan though.

We've waited long enough, so sounds good. Letunov it is.

With the 80th pick of this year's entry draft, the Minnesota Wild are proud to select; from the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds of the Ontario Hockey League, left winger
Michael Bunting!

Soo-Greyhounds-rookie-Michael-Bunting-Aaron-Bell-OHL-Images.jpg

"Michael Bunting has not had an easy route. Passed over twice in the OHL draft, his third year of eligibility was a charm and he was selected by the Soo Greyhounds in the 6th round. Posting 42 points in 48 games, Bunting had an excellent first year despite a slow start. After some mistakes in his game were corrected by the coaching, Bunting displayed excellent work ethic, high hockey IQ and a what it takes to be a great teammate. He dipped in the rankings thanks mostly due to a knee injury he suffered in January, however the setback did not require surgery and Bunting came back strong and hasn't missed a stride. We feel he has the potential to be a later second rounder, earlier third rounder and anything past that is a steal."

:wild Draft:
1st round, 19th overall - Sonny Milano, C
3rd round, 80th overall - Michael Bunting, LW

With the 81st pick, the Los Angeles Kings select, from the Luleå Hockeyförening of the Svenska hockeyligan, forward,

Lucas Wallmark

2013-08-31_0513_795.jpg

...

Eliteprospects.com

Wallmark has first-class hockey sense and vision. Very smart player and a highly skilled playmaker. Has good puck control and will also battle hard for the puck. Good defensive game and face-off skills. Major concern is his skating ability, as he lacks speed and acceleration.

...

Wouldn't be a Kings draft if I didn't pick at least one overager. Was debating Wallmark as my second pick, thought he'd still be there in the third round. Had a solid U20. Good smart 2-way guy. Not a great skater but can be improved, plenty of examples already.

...

Draft recap

#20 David Pastrňák, F, Södertälje Sportklubb
#51 Jayce Hawryluk, F, Brandon Wheat Kings
#81 Lucas Wallmark, F, Luleå Hockeyförening

With the 82nd pick, the Montreal Canadiens are proud to select, from the US National under 18 team, Defenseman Ryan Collins.

Ryan-Collins.jpg

We are very pleased to have been able to add Ryan Collins to our prospect pool. Ryan has all the tools to develop into a nice shutdown dman at the nhl level. His size, 6'5 200lbs, combined with his skating, which is pretty good for his size and is still improving, and calm and collected demeanor, form a very enticing package that we simply could not pass up at this point in the draft. In Ryan Collins, we envision a consistent defensive defenseman, albeit with limited offensive upside.

He may well go in the second actually.

I wonder which teams would be willing to reach that high for him. Assuming the rest of the USDP defenders (plus guys like Jacobs and Snuggerud) aren't ranked totally out of whack, I have a hard time pegging him going too much higher - given the level of competition from outside the USDP for 2nd round consideration, as well.

With the 84th pick in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft, the Chicago Blackhawks select from St. Andrew's College, forward Warren Foegele.

warrenfoegele_4098-430x298.jpg

At one point, standing at only 5'8 and at 150lbs, Foegele was on nobody's radar. Now he's 6'1, 180lbs and has shown serious hockey acumen in lower level Canadian hockey. He has a powerful stride and nice release, and we like his potential as a two-way player. He is a project and will take his time developing at the University of New Hampshire this fall.

With the 85th overall pick the Calgary Flames are pleased to select from Djurgarden defenseman Andreas Englund.

andreasenglund_dif.jpg

Andreas is a big, strong blueliner who plays a defensive game while punishing and frustrating opposing players with his physicality and his stickwork. We think he plays a game suited for North American ice and would like to see him develop a bigger mean streak on this side of the pond.

Next GM has been PM'd.
