Watched the third period of the game today, what the hell happened lol?

This team looked like one on the come up from the playoffs, but they inexplicably can't seem to play right in their own zone lol

It's tough in N.Y right now.
1. Rangers are bad
2. Subway is about as safe as Fallujah
3. Violent Crime % through the stratosphere
4. Giants/Jets hope from a month ago is gone
5. Tons of people leaving
6. Garbage piles everywhere in the city with a rat infestation like most have never seen

Just not a lot of hope when 3-0 leads vanish in 14 minutes on a "Vezina" goalie with a "perfectly created roster".

Rangers had all that talent force their way to NY and they still manage to somehow screw it up
Story of their entire franchise. They only won that 1 recentish cup cause they stole half the Dynasty Oilers. Without the New York factor in attracting stars, they might be the worst franchise in NHL history all things considered, and that’s saying something when the Leafs exist.

Why did they reelect Hochul then? It is surely not so bad.

Rangers need to trade Laf or Kappo Krappo for a big name player. Your window is now. Don't blow it waiting for young guys to get good.

Not trading for Eichel will be the biggest mistake Drury has made.
What big name player they gonna get for those guys? Although it wouldn't surprise me if they did.

I guess the Devils 3 Cups are null and void as well considering the way they stole Scott Stevens under the biggest bullshit loophole ever that would have never EVER been able to fly today.

Without the NHL allowing them to be "awarded" Stevens as "compensation", they'd still be the same Mickey Mouse worst franchise in NHL history.

YUp. Rangers best players (excepting Fox, who I think is fantastic) are all older. Their window to win is right now and for a couple more years. Afternoon that they will fall into mediocrity. So definitely it’s time to trade futures (picks, Kakko, Chytil, Lafrenierre) for experienced guys who will help them win now.

Geez, I had the Rangers as cup contenders too! What happened? Will they suddenly pick it up in the 2nd half? Do they need to fire Gallant?

Wait…youre suggesting that making a mockery of offers for Eichel wasn’t the correct approach?

Not only werent those players on the table…you have to go another half dozen deeper to find someone they were willing to part with.

The Blues screwed themselves there. They didn’t have the picks to try to steal Shanahan. Stevens was the correct compensation when the team making the offer couldn’t even pay up.

Correct compensation based on what?

How did the NHL approve the Shanahan offer sheet without the Blues having the appropriate picks to make it happen?

Correct compensation based on Lou picking that. And he gets to pick that cause the Blues were literally trying to steal a player without assets to make it happen. It went to arbitration, both sides were heard and a decision was made.

Not sure exactly how that loophole situation happened but it happened and it happened within the rules of the NHL at the time.
