The New York Rangers are a perfectly built team this year

Perfectly built?

I’m a huge Rangers fan but the original post is nonsense.

This Rangers team clearly lacks speed. It was very evident against Colorado for example. The Avs, even without Landeskog, were a much faster team and NYR just could not keep up.

NYR is not winning any Cups until they solve this problem. Fast teams like Tampa and Colorado will continue to dominate them until then…

As soon as their highly touted young players take off, the Rangers will be unstoppable in the East.

When Laf and Kravtsov truly suck, Kakko and Schneider are very inconsistent and Chytil is injured, the Rangers are losing their depth.

Also, doesn’t help that Kreider lost his scoring touch

As a Devils fan , I’m worried about how good the Rangers could be if their youngsters all hit their ceiling. It was a blessing for other teams in the Metro that Lias Anderson didn’t work out . Trading Buchnevich and Ludkvist , Chytl Laf Kakko Kratzov not hitting their ceilings (yet) is also huge. If those kids plus Schneider Miller all bust out ….. yes it will be scary.
Add in a Vezina goalie , Norris winner D , a top 5 winger in Panarin , very good players in Zib, Kreider, Trocheck Trouba .
That looks like a very good team on paper. Or at least has bery bery good potential.
I just hope they don’t all hit their potential.

Keep dreaming

Lol Kreider hitting 50 was the biggest fluke of all time, amazing how you couldn’t have seen that coming.

Theyre roster isnt as good as it was in the playoffs last year. And they still arent very good 5 on 5. Over reliance on the PP.

Oh and lol at laf and kakko being elite.

They're much better 5on 5 this year than last. something like 54% CF whereas they were like low 40s this time last year.

Middle 6 a little underwhelming, is Panarin effective in playoffs, lockdown d-man? Still have questions but they have a lot of pieces.

Rangers used all their good voodoo last year.
Bottom ten team in shot generation, shots against, chances against, etc; and managed to make it to the final 4.

Landeskog is not fast. Good player, not fast.

The only team that can keep up with the Avs speedwise is EDM. Makar and Mackinnon are disturbingly fast, and others like Girard, Byram, Rantanen, and the like aren't far behind. Teams need to beat the Avs with a ferocious forecheck, great defense, and take advantage of their goaltending.

The Rangers are 4-0-2 with Igor starting, so I believe I’m still correct in my assumptions
If playing backups doesn’t count, you should probably scratch the win today which more than a little influenced by Wedgewood coming into the game.

The Rangers are a good team. Maybe they won’t have a similar season. Let’s face it, Krider isn’t scoring 50. At least I doubt he will. Injury wise they lucked out. But we’re only 8 to 10 games in. They’ll make the playoffs and I’m sure they’ll make changes to get better come the trade deadline and hope for a cup run.

Great game against the Stars tonight. Those 3 third period goals by NYR were a thing of beauty. Hard to he upset as a Stars fan. The Rangers like expected are looking mighty fine. Entertaining team to watch

How has Lundkvist been for you guys? I hope he does well!

The Rangers xGF and shot percentage are hilarious right now. Absolutely dominated the Flyers today. 4 posts. Hart stood on his head. 1-0 win.

Right now Kreider - Zibanejad - Kakko has the highest xGF in the league.

This team is going to break through big time, and they already have a winning record.

I mean they’re very good but not the best(at least not currently) and DEFINITELY not “perfect”.
