Shestyorkin was 6-0-2 before this game, they ran into a red hot Bruins team.

They’re still comfortably in a play off position and still are a perfectly build team.

I’m sorry I didn’t expect Lafreniere to continue zero production, Kreider to stop scoring goals in bunches and captain Trouba to become an absolute pylon.

However, once they get going, watch out

LOL Jesus H Christ the delusion of this guy.

They're TENTH in the East in points percentage, not only not comfortably in a playoff position, they aren't even in a playoff position right now.

MANY expected Laf to continue to not produce, Kreider's goals last year to be a massive outlier and for Trouba to be an overpaid net negative. None of those 3 things are very likely to change...

It's still early, things absolutely can change, but they are nowhere near a perfectly built team -- partly because of your boy Breadman being so overpaid and being so soft.

The only thing that would really concern me if I were a Rangers fan is the continued lack of production from Kakko and Lafreniere. I can’t imagine a single Rangers fan actually expected a 50 goal repeat from Kreider.
It shouldn't have been unexpected for them but Shesty coming back down to earth should be a concern too as he carried the team last year. Also I'd say coaching lately has been a big concern for them. They have some really great pieces in place but it's not easy to pull it all together. I think last year was a similar cinderella run to the Canes' in 2018-19, it's taken several more years of building by the Canes with bumps along the way to become a true contender, which is still not even a given. I expect the Rags' timeline to be similar, if they don't blow it entirely.

I simply do not see any weaknesses in the Rangers roster this season, they are solid in every department. In my mind they are the best team in the East and only the Avs match them.

Vezina winning goalie in Shestyorkin

Norris winning defender in Fox

Elite 1C in Zibanejad

Elite 1W in Panarin

Great 2C in Trocheck

50 goal scorer in Kreider

Big physical presence in Blais, Reeves, Trouba

Elite young players in Lafreniere, Kakko, Kravtsov

Deadly power play and solid penalty kill

Great coaching by Gallant
Grandpa Penguins will gum you.....watch it!

I expect some regression from Shesterkin. He had a freaking historic season last year. That said, I’ll be shocked if he statistically isn’t a top 5 goalie in the league this season.

Rags had the same problems before the deadline last year: a non existent bottom 6. Once Chytil comes back it’ll help but they are just way too reliant on the power play again.

They are like 4th in 5 on5 xG. But have one of the worst shooting percentages.

Yeah, it sucks ass. Kreider is glued to Zibanejad even though he's been looking awful. He should be on the 3rd line and LAF should take his spot on the first line.

Our kids don't get any PP time either.

If the Rangers just re-signed Buchnevich and traded the older, less talented Kreider this would never have been an issue.

Bad GM's and bad moves in overload.

Instead of Reaves, Goodrow and Kreider we could've had Buchnevich and some decent capspace.

Man I hate that I love this team.

The ineptitude of the management is a never ending story.

They wasted Lundqvist's prime. Now they have so many tools to build a great team, and they anchor themselves to bad contracts instantly.

The most perfectly built team to lose more games than they win…I’ll promise you that.

We will talk in April
Sounds like you should’ve made the thread in April then.

Also, insinuating that Halak is the reason they lost tonight (along with some of your other takes) is the ultimate tell that you watch Rangers primarily from the box scores.

I’m just stating the fact that the Rangers get much better results with Shesty in net without any assessment of Halak performance
