So much panic without understanding what they mean. Trotz, Cassidy, and Sullivan all fit under what was described and I think most would be elated with any of them.

2 of those coaches likely are not going anywhere. But you’re right, Barry Trotz checks all of those boxes. They were saying his name without saying his name in that paragraph. He’s their dream coach. That’s not a good thing as I see it, because he’s the most high floor inside the box coach there is for this team, but he’s not coming here, so it gets a big whatever from me. Best start looking at who can be Discount Trotz.

If it's not Trotz, and no one else shakes loose, I think they go with Montgomery.

Seems wrong...
2. Philadelphia is getting closer to starting its interviews. They know how critical this hire is for them, determined to leave no stone unturned in finding the right person. What’s been on their minds is a coach with a strong track record, demands accountability from players, gets buy-in right away, and makes teams harder to play against.
They forgot to include will need to be a puppet and a cuck for the ol boys club upstairs

I think they're going to back their way into a reasonably good coaching hire in Montgomery, but for all of the wrong reasons.

I think the other coaches are going to be paid big bucks to produce wins & I just don’t really know how feasible that is with the way this roster is headed. Not that I really care on this part but Montgomery would be cheaper & I think he’s more adaptable to modern hockey than the others. He’s also better fit if your focus has to shift more to development over wins. Guys like Trotz & Torts are here for winning, not developing. It’s small sample but Montgomery does have some track record of success in the NHL. So not a complete unknown either.

Way too many awful options out there to be that optimistic..
Just reading the tea leaves and the “thought” process this organization uses. They need something they haven’t tried yet but they’ll want safe and they probably don’t want to pay a premium. And they love a known commodity. Monty checks off all of those boxes, but we’ll see.

But Scott said they have a blank checkbook and since there is a salary cap, that is one area he can "put his money where his mouth is."

No doubt but I do think there might be some hesitance after throwing a big check at AV & having it back fire badly. Even beyond the money that’s a big perception blow.

That last BSH podcast that Charlie was on he did say reality has somewhat set in for the organization that they have no capspace flexibility to make huge sweeping changes this off-season. They can’t add a player without moving another player out. So they just can’t take a player with only giving away futures & capspace. He said they’re more so looking at “hockey trades”. Not that he said Provorov’s definitely out the door but used the hypothetical of him for a comparable age/caphit forward as like a frame work of what they’re more likely to do.

They dont make a play for Gaudreau they are going to lose even more fans (not saying I agree or disagree with going after him).

Good thing Chuckle f*** gave Risto over $5 million for replacement level results.

Why can't we just get a coach signed for 2 years at most? Did we not f***ing learn about longer termed coaches with this f***ing team?
You’re likely not getting a quality HC on a two year deal. It‘s also not my money that they’re spending on a big name so if they want to spend go for it.

I’m fully on board with a big name big contract HC so that it can blow up in Chuck and Comcast’s face and maybe just maybe they’ll learn a lesson.

I have my doubts.
