No it wasn't. After the 1st, the Jets were clearly, clearly the better team. They didn't "steal" anything, they got the result they should have with their level of play.

No it wasn't. We had a very poor first, but dominated the play after that. We were the deserving winners by quite a wide margin.

I’ll say this. I know the Jets would love another top flight center or a top pairing d-man, but Jesus Christ on a motorcycle, don’t trade Laine to get him. You will rue the goddamned day.

Just saying... I don’t think Dubois could ever command a game like that. Fun to watch. Connor and laine could become one of the deadliest duos around. Go Jets!

Lol Laine's post game is gold. Slept on defense, wanted a break away, faked out some Flames players in our end, faked out myself and it went in!

His having slow starts to seasons also isn't anything new. I'm not all too concerned about it yet, but I agree that his ice time needs to be well managed at this point in his career.Nice turnaround. Still absolute confusion in the dzone at times which is the norm now, but the NZ play picked up, D were better at pinching in to make plays and keep pucks in. Laine looked great, as did Ehlers.
Wheeler is an old man in hockey years so he'll need a bit to get going. Hopefully his ice time is managed more as we get further on. He's not a play driver at 5v5 anymore, but he has hands and in short bursts has speed, it just needs to be properly managed so he's not gassed.
I have zero expectations of this team so just be exciting

Jets won the fancy stats battle tonight as well and had the better looks:
