yeah, we all generally play like sh*t on the road. Small sample size for Elvis on that but we've had some sh*tty road games.
Much harder to shelter players when the opposition has the last change.yeah, we all generally play like sh*t on the road. Small sample size for Elvis on that but we've had some sh*tty road games.
IDK if anyone else is watching this Behind the Battle series that the CBJ are doing over on Youtube (have been thinking about making a thread for it on its own, but im not sure of the interest on the board. Let me know if you'd like that) but Elvis is really a gravitational personality. The guys seem to really like him, and he's a very emotional person. He seems really embraced in the locker room and I'm personally glad to have him on board.

Chicken/egg question here...does the team suck on the road (in part) because Elvis is bad on the road or is Elvis bad on the road because the team sucks on the road?
I mentioned this is another thread, but I wanted to put it here. I heard a radio interview the other day about the reason to play Elvis so much down the stretch. They are trying to show him the work load of a #1 goalie on a team being in contention for a playoff spot. One thing Larsen said is that want to really tire Elvis out so he’ll think about some of the things he does and really focus on only using his energy to play hockey.
Don’t let Elvis see this
I agree to a point. But even in a full-blown “playoffs or bust” mode, the #1 G is not likely to play EVERY game , especially every back-to- back. Giving Elvis a heavy load with the recovery time he could reasonably expect to get in a playoff push is great - but this current streak seems more than just a heavy load…it is exhaustive, which causes me concerns about injury to body and/or to confidence. Elvis was good enough last night but I wouldn’t say he’s particularly sharp. And playoffs are WAY WAY different. More adrenaline, more close checking, generally less shots. Getting him shelled without the structure of playoff hockey seems counterproductive to me. Last night was an exception, but he is gassed. And there is zero playoff position to play for.The horror!

We'll know he is truly washed if he is traded to VegasTHIS IS A NECRO POST IN AN OLDER THREAD!!
But I'm bringing it back as a place to discuss the player who could have the biggest impact on how successful the team is standings-wise. He has shown flashes and short stretches but it's time for him to elevate his game on a consistent basis. I'm hoping to see that from Elvis this season.
Let's not get ahead of ourselves. Wise men say only fools rush in.We'll know he is truly washed if he is traded to Vegas
