One year the ex-fiancee and myself received the Phillips Hue Starter Kit for Christmas (from her mom...so she ended up keeping it all when we split up). I was at work when she set it up and never got around to going back and looking at how it all works (though she told me it was a pretty simple set up).

I can say that it was something I absolutely noticed when we split up, how cool and neat it was having that. I haven't re-bought yet because I don't have my own place, but I plan to have them again whenever I do get my own place.

I have August smart locks on my doors (which I love) and have been thinking about expanding the whole idea. Next step would be thermostat and a vacuum.
