Fahrenheit is just as linear celsius, but gives more resolution.
I'm well aware. I just think the scale is ridiculous. And the fact that the freezing point lands on such a strange number just makes it all the more odd.

I completely understand the use of Fahrenheit in things such as medicine, chemists etc. A slight variation in degree could change anything for such precise measures. I just think for the every day person wondering if they should wear a t-shirt or not, the measure of Celsius just makes a tonne more sense. And notice I said a tonne, not 2204.6 pounds ;)

Freezing point is weird because it wasn't based on water freezing.

2000 pounds! Get out of here with that UK nonsense!

It's very hard to change these systems at this point. Would be very costly and confusing. The time to go metric was 200 years ago. Same with driving on the left and right. Very expensive to change.
Except if you're a communist dictator within a land known as Myanmar.

Myanmar is not communist. It has also been trying to transition to SI units, but for everyday use, it is mostly a combo of Imperial and Burmese units. They also drive on the right (RHT, needing LHD cars), but most cars are still RHD, being used imports from Japan mostly. All new imports have to be RHD. Of all the places I have been, easily the oldest average vehicle age.

Going through toll booths is minorly funny in Myanmar. If there is no front seat passenger, or helper in the case of a bus, the driver has to get up/out to pay.

Never heard of quart before. But I see it's very close to liter (0.946 liters).

Yeah, it is pretty understandable the way you presented it.

At least I know what a pint is. It's the big beer I buy from supermarket.

Yes, this.

Edit. I just figured out McDonalds QP contains a little over 100g of meat.

So, instead of calling it a "Quarter Pounder", we should call it a "Hunny Grammer"?

Except that one time where a dictator decided to switch the driving position on the roads?

Did you know: Myanmar switched to driving on the right-hand side of the road 46 years ago this week | Coconuts Yangon

That's actually where the phrase "dick measuring contest" comes from. It's measuring other items with... ah forget it.

Way back in the day, we decided 12 inches = 1 foot.
Some of us wanted to use 12 inches = 1 dick.
12 inches = 1 dick, 5280 dicks = 1 mile, etc...
