I was watching a few youtubes and two things were apparent

He does not like to be physical.

He does not skate back hard to cover a man.

I do NOT care if he scores a highlite goal every 10 games, i care to win.

He's Drouin V2.0. I don't want him anywhere near the Habs organization.

Zegras could be the brand ambassador for Charmin.

I mean, that right there tells us this isn't a serious take. Some Youtube highlight clips lmao.

You got to actually watch the games, with an iso/focus on a player to get a better picture.

I watched a few ANA games this season when Zegras was healthy. I was extremely surprised by the forechecking effort and jam he showed on board battles. People who watch ANA this season say the same thing.

This "he's lazy, soft, etc" narrative wasn't apparent at all. It's just something parroted by people incapable of independent or rational thought.

If ANA is selling low on Zegras, there is a huge opportunity out there for another team.

You base your evaluation on a few youtubes clip. Im an habs fan and happened to watch some ducks games. Zegras is not as bad as you think. He would infuse a lot of skills to our team and he would be a great addition. I feel MSL could take his game to an other level. I think you read the headlines and make up your mind without watching him play. I couldnt disagree more with you and any habs fan against trading for Zegras. If hes on the trade block we must make a very serious offer to pry him out of anaheim

I watched a few YouTube clips of Caufield and he doesn't like to be physical, he's behind the defense picking cherries and not back defending on a lot of the plays, and it's just players setting him up with cross ice passes for shots on the power play.

See how small YouTube clips can be meaningless?

It’s not even all that some people just really rooting for zegras to fail because they don’t like his personality/style.

Why watch him when you can spend all day in forum and twitter hating on him , him being injured is best case scenario for these types of fans too because you can just base everything on this years small sample size.

A lot of these posters gunna be eating crow soon, and I can’t wait personally(majority being habs fans)

Well yeah. Most people are unable to be objective, rational, or impartial. Just parrot narratives that confirm whatever they already want to believe (Zegras sucks!) and ignore any evidence to the contrary.
Lock it up
Why? Because people with bad and uninformed opinions are rightfully getting told off and corrected?

Problem is ANA have no intentions of selling low and i know only of one Hab fan who is willing to give up 3-1st rd picks for him. The rest of us are have no interest in parting with 3-1st rd picks for Zegras. None what so ever.

Using Montreal as an example

Dach returned a high/mid 1st + 3rd

Newhook returned late 1st, early 2nd and a prospect(I assume was a nothing prospect)

Zegras is much better than both players at the time of the trade, their combined career point totals are slightly above zegras season average at the time of their trades.

I don’t think it’s unreasonable to say zegras is worth more than 13th overall in a okay draft, and prob another 2 late 1sts/early 1sts pretty comfortably

Not saying Montreal should make this type of move, but claiming zegras isn’t worth it is rediculous

This is a good point.
If Anaheim said zegras is available to Montreal for

Montreal 1st(top 3 protected)
Winnipeg 1st
And a 2nd
I think Montreal would take that and run so fast, to the point that making that 2nd a prospect or another 1st isn’t a crazy ask

I would rather have the Montreal 1st than Zegras, let alone the additional picks.

Zegras doesn't move the needle for a team that wants to contend. If the Ducks got the offer above they would take it and run laughing their arses off.

Zegras is Drouin re-incarnated. Possibly even softer than Drouin.

Of course You would think that. Good luck keeping that dream alive.
PS I'm pretty sure you can find at least ONE hab fan that would agree. with you.

A team wants to contend so they want a player that’s 2-3 years away from development… over an already proven top 6 forward with more upside.

Odd

A proven top-6 forward that is one-dimensional and soft. No thanks. You don't win cups with players like that.

Drouin and zegras are hardly anything alike but that’s what Montreal fans want to say because they know they won’t ever have zegras
