FF7 might be the only game I'll ever get a deluxe version of. This is going to be a long 9 months.

Im just wondering why doesn't the box art reflect it being a "part 1" or something to that effect?
I thought the same, but then i read this on their pre-order page:

The first entry in a multi-part saga, delivering a level of depth inconceivable for the original. Mind-blowing story, unforgettable characters, epic battles and technical excellence collide.

FINAL FANTASY® VII REMAKE - DELUXE EDITION [PS4] | Square Enix Store
Plus that's not the final box art.

I seriously cannot f***ing wait!! Like @Overcast said, this is going to be a LONG 9 months.

Thanks, didn't see that.

Ok next question, how long we have to wait till part 2? Are we talking part 2 on PS5? Or like, Fall 2020? I have so many questions, however, I'm still all in on this.

It is a good question. I think that really depends on what Part I is like. I've seen conflicting info on if the first part is just Midgar or not. If it is just Midgar, then I wouldn't expect it for a while, like mid to late 2021. If Part I goes beyond Midgar, then I think Q1 2021 is much more reasonable. It really comes down to how much of the world map they have developed.

Two blu-ray discs worth of Midgar sounds crazy right? One makes a lot more sense. They need to clarify this.

Well, at first it did. But, the more I think about it, it doesn't seem as crazy and here is my line of thinking...

As soon as FF VII Remake was announced, immediately the questions flooded in. One of the very first questions was would there be a world map? Or would it be like FFX where you fast travel everywhere? If there is a world map how do you take into account size and scope? Could you recreate FF VII and its world map without taking that into account? Nope.

Midgar was built up to be this grand metropolis and I think they are making it just that, a massive city, similar to what Altissa was supposed to be in FF XV. By doing so, you begin to set the scale for other towns and parts of the game in both size and content. If I had to guess, Midgar is going to expand far beyond what we can imagine and creating the content for this part of the game is why it won't be released until 2020. I think the "remake" aspect of the game will most definitely be felt in the first episode. Once you go beyond Midgar, I truly believe it will be closer to the original game, with respect to the story and setting.
