All of those people who convinced themselves Bonk's scoring last year was legit, sure are quiet this year.

Well under PPG in his D+2 playing on the highest scoring team in the CHL.

Top 10 pick in a re-draft according to management.

The Flyers themselves have gone kind of quiet on that front too. Same with Hunter McDonald.

In all seriousness though it seems he’s still in line probability wise with what his draft year suggested. Probably a pretty decent chance he makes the NHL but realistic upside if all goes well is probably more so a mid pairing guy.

Yep, Bonk always had #4 written all over him...

Gulyayev was the guy I would have swang on.

But was clear at the time that 2023 was not going to be a great draft for Dmen. Only 5 guys really looked like being worthy of a 1st round pick without hindsight.

Magomed Sharakanov probably ends up a top 10 Dman from that draft year... and he went undrafted aha...

I do wonder what their analytical staff thinks every time their scouting department goes down the pathway of these statistical profiles that would need to be an outlier even sometimes to the extreme length to justify their sky high outlook.
It does make sense that a franchise whose overall ethos to competing for a Cup is "You never know" would pick players who would have to exceed consensus expectations to meet what the Flyers want them to achieve.

Makes you think how much of what Inge Hammarström said in terms of leaving Flyers due to philosophical difference is still embedded...

Know he is retired now and seemingly got very few high picks with either Canucks or Flyers over the last 15 years of his scouting career...

But noteworthy that 2 of the last 3 picks from his area over career were Elias Pettersson and Gustav Forsling!

Take away the non 5v5 scoring since that doesnt matter and it gets ugly.
Funny part is his ES scoring is pretty much identical to what it was last year. He just doesn't have the gimmicky bumper stats inflating his numbers like last year. And some thought he was such a gifted bumper that it could potentially work in the NHL. He couldn't even repeat it in the OHL on a super team.

What about Perrault?
