Feels like Koskinen would be better off taking off the 3 clipper guard before buzzing his head.

WHY? Also how?

Also, just noticed Cale Makar has a nasty widow’s peak going. Looks more defined than in his headshots, wonder how it’ll look in a few years.

His dad has the same hairline, so it's probably not going to go full Vegeta.

On a related note to this topic, if anyone here is balding OR has problems with their beard connecting, use minoxidil (the product in rogaine) and a derma roller (make sure it's 0.5mm or 0.75mm). Trust me.

minoxidil with the derma roller ?

All these guys are loaded - why not just get hair plugs? I mean if it matters so much that you need to style your hair to hide it.
Receding hairline is a real rich man/poor man. Some guys are so well off they don’t even worry about their hairlines. And then there’s the other end of the spectrum where they don’t have the means to do anything about it.

It's weird to me to see a young, successful man of today make the series of conscious decisions necessary to look like a sleazy seventies porn producer
It’s possibly the creepiest look in the public sphere. In that it’s intentional. He could dress and groom like an adult and look fine.

I'll just speak for myself but I think that Iafrate was rocking a strong look there, not as good as if he had a full head of hair but it is distinctive and strong. If he shaved everything off it would be pretty bland like Keith Tkachuk. The Terry Bradshaw skullet is also an underrated look for a thickly built guy. Obviously all these guys would rather have hair but "just shave it off" is bad advice for a lot of bald guys.
This post challenges my preconceptions and I thank you. I revisited those Iafrate pix with fresh eyes and my opinion is changed. I totally agree the skullet was the correct choice for Iafrate.

Are you talking plugs or some kind of magical elixir?

Axl Rose has (or had) the funniest attempt ever to hide his balding no NHL player will ever top it.

Like why not just wear a hat or something instead? Lol flip it backwards for extra cool points if you really need to feel hip....

As a 36yr old man who shaves his head - but sincerely has no shame in my thin/basically bald "natural" head - I feel so embarrassed for this person.

Nothing screams look at me and notice that Im severely insecure about my baldness like fake dreadlocks do...

**Deep thought incoming - anyone else ever notice the severe double standard in society between men and women when it comes to altering their appearances? After they get finished doing themselves up for a night out, so many women become akin to a bionic painted clown - but the end result might still be a legit hot commodity. And most guys will easily ignore the fact that she needs a good 1-2 hours of beauty/shop work to get road worthy again each day.

Im guilty as charged. We aren't the ones doing the daily touch-up work (amirite gents!!?). And I make fun of the guys who wear fake dreads, despite also being bald myself.

Am I part of the problem?

Is there a small part of me that also wants to wear dreadlocks out some nights and everyone is cool with it? Yes, If Im being honest...

minoxidil with the derma roller ?
"a study where the researchers tested if Derma Rolling would be an effective method of stimulating scalp-hair growth.
Much to their surprise, using a Derma Roller in combination with minoxidil, yielded better results in terms of new hair growth than minoxidil alone (one of the most potent hair follicle activators).
The study was published in the International Journal of Trichology in 2013, and the researchers theorize that using a microneedle has to activate some of the stem-cell growth factors."

derma didn’t do shit for me, minoxidil is pretty good. Finasteride works the best but many males experienced reduced to sex drive. But thanks for sharing.

The thing is once you start shaving it down you have to keep on top of it unless you want those individual hairs to start sticking out like the Play-Doh Barber Shop.

Ya this thread has actually made me sympathize with those who just let it be- I’ve always said I’d shave it if I had to, but then I hate even having to shave my face. Whatever works for folks, as long as they’re confident about it.
