I watched most of the game vs South Korea, obviously there isn't much to take from such a game. McElhinney at least looked competent facing what few tests were sent his way, which is a positive. I am going to guess that Kuemper gets the game tomorrow and then McElhinney plays the next game against Finland. Hopefully McElhinney plays well in that game and the goaltending situation is settled. Dubois was also good again today, and I do enjoy seeing the WJC eligible players (Dubois and Jost this year) have success.

McElhinney was composed and made the saves he should make.

Should be our guy going forward. Kuemper has done nothing to earn the #1 spot.

I doubt Crosby will be coming over to play if the Penguins get eliminated. Even though Crosby Mcdavid down the middle would be pretty sweet.

Is DiPietro registered yet? We could possibly go for Martin Jones if thats the case.

I'm curious about if Hockey Canada is going to float out any offers to the San Jose defence. Vlasic is a vocal fan of international hockey and Burns likes the tournament too. Given that Burns' criticism of the tournament is that its too long, his issue is somewhat mitigated as well. Overall I'm not expecting any additions though.

I wouldn't make any additions. The guys that gave up their time to play for Canada, deserve to finish this tournament. Even though it was lopsided and Canada seemed to be playing at 80% effort, it was nice to see some pucks go in, in a 10-0 win over S Korea.

S Korea not top team)

I don't think Jones or any Canadian goaltender would come in this late and displace 1 of the 2 NHLers who are already there to civvies and hotdogs in the press box. They are part of the fraternity. but maybe I'm wrong.

I would really like for Jones or Murray to come over, anything to help with the tragic goalie situation this year.

My primary source tells me that Hockey Canada is overly concerned with the feelings of marginal NHLers.

Jones would have got a phone call this morning if I'm Team Canada. Kuemper and Mcelhinney are all fine goalies but shouldn't be the #1 goalies for a national team such as Canada.
