we're going to have to deal with that for a while. can you imagine what he's going to be like when he gets his first opportunity to play with the Big Boys at a real tournament? Yes, Mr. Crosby. No, Mr. Crosby. Yes, Mr. Tavares...and etc. etc.

it's who he is. gotta love him.
LOL, yep......we are gonna have to deal with this stuff to varying degrees for some time, but I love him anyway.

I don't like that Schenn line unless O'Reilly can carry it. I have very ow expectations for Schenn, especially at centre. We'll see how things shake out in the games though.

Schenn just had a career year at centre.

even with the career year in his back pocket, I'd be a little more confident of Schenn finally putting in a decent tournament if he had his LWer Schwartz with him...but it looks as though the coach doesn't have them together to start. 20 games at the WHC 5 goals. I'm pulling for him now....but I have my doubts he can deliver minus Schwartz. The best thing Schenn has ever done at this tournament was in '15 and was a real good team guy in giving up his spot for Sid.

This team has a real World Junior look to it, very youthful team.

I'm aware. He won't have the elite winger support (relative to the level of competition) that he did in the NHL and more importantly on international ice mistakes by centres tend to be more glaring. Best to have players who either have high end hockey sense or elite skating, neither of which is a particularly big strength for Schenn. Even just switching his spot with O'Reilly would be fine.

I'm a little disappointed with the goaltending, as a Leafs fan I've seen Curtis McElhinney make some spectacular saves and win us a handful of games, if he's the #1 and Canada goes on to gold this will likely be the highlight of his career.

I'm not so worried about the goaltending. I'm much more curious about how Canada's huge defence will do against speedy forwards on the big ice. If the defence plays well, the goaltending will probably look fine. That's generally how things work at the senior level.

PPs looked like:

PP1 McDavid, Eberle, Nuge, Parayko and Schwartz

PP2: Barzal, Bailey, O'Reilly, Ekblad, Schenn

I think I've got those right

Can Canada please get over this inane obsession with playing teammate together?! Watching Mcdavid get saddled with RNH as if that is some fantastic combo is a nightmare scenario. But I guess they see the tremendous success the Oilers are having and don't want to make any moves that would conflict with what the super geniuses are doing in Edmonton.
