Yes but its counting from this year , the old big surface was 30m NHL is 26-28 wide
The NHL has a standard size of 85 feet (25,9 m) and that was supposed to be in the World Championships 2022 as well, but it was now decided to use 28 meters wide. An 85-foot NHL-sized rink was used in Beijing.

It is true that before, the international rink was usually 30 meters, so this 28 meters is now something between the NHL/International.

Mercer is another very nice add. I'm liking how this team looks in the very early stages.

Obviously, the team will be stronger than last year's, but I don't think it will have stars of the level of McDavid or Tavares. It will be an average team by the standards of Canada.

What I want from this tournament is some reps for good young players in an environment where the team is competitive. Looks good on that front so far. Hopefully the team gets a decent goaltender and a star type forward.

Leafs looking good. Team Canada can use a few TB players in a few days. It would be nice if Stamkos accepts an invite, but that's being overly optimistic at this point, but if we can land Point and Cirelli I'd be good with those adds.

On a side note, Team Russia must be thrilled to get their players... oh wait, right... I forgot. I think they got a few games lined up against Belarus and N. Korea.

Canada will have formidable opponents in the face of Great Britain, France and Austria at this tournament) It is prestigious to win such a World Championship😅

I have great respect for the Canadian national team and I want the Russian national team to be treated with the same respect. It is not good to mock a worthy opponent who has suffered because of politics. Ordinary hockey players are not to blame. Reasonable people should understand this.

It's not good to invade other countries who are independent and can make its own geopolitical decisions either :thumbu:. There is no respect in invasion and war.

This is a terrible argument against that. What's happening in Ukraine is bigger than sport, even though a vast majority of Russian citizens are "innocent", they as a nation collectively allowed this to happen and continue to support it. They reap the consequences of the actions they support now.

Not hearing or seeing any news out of Long Island re: a few Team Canada players there. Have you heard anything?

None so far. I thought Beauvillier was out? If so that doesn't bode well for getting Barzal or Pelech. I'd love to get Ryan Pulock.

came back to play the final 2 games or the final game. Would like all 4 if possible. Pelech and Pulock + Chabot and Severson.. that's a pretty good Top 4 right there. I'm down for that party.

From Detroit, I wonder if they invite Michael Rasmussen or Joe Veleno?

Jake Walman could be another name on D that could be on their radar, depending on how many other players decline.

Man, it's weird when a new poster shows up and proceeds to repeat the same talking point over and over, irrespective of the actual topic at hand. It's almost like there's a farm where they grow these guys.

Anyway, as always Canada's success will depend on who winds up playing goal. I had hoped Carey Price would have been healthy and willing to play; it appears neither of those two conditions are met. Is Carter Hart our best hope?

Amen to that! Not worth engaging,

on to hockey related matters...hopefully we'll have our answers soon. only 9 days to puck drop.

I urge you to refrain from sarcasm against Russia. This is: A) Ugly in relation to a hockey country that has given the world many stars. B) Provokes unwanted conversations.

No matter what anyone says, but ordinary players are not to blame for anything. This is a fact. Thank you in advance for your understanding)

I think that I speak for many when I say that I don't come to this thread for obfuscation regarding what Russia is doing, but rather to see what Bear12Good and his sources have to tell us regarding the roster of team Canada.
Bear12Good, by the way, comes from Russia. Maybe he doesn't write anything here because of anti-Russian sentiments?

Wow.

I came here to see news about team Canada.. I'm leaving due a discussion about politics.
I also want to talk about hockey and discuss the lineups, but Gold Standard allows itself to mock the Russian national team. I think it's ugly on his part.

I know where Bear12Good comes from. I also know what you are trying to do. More of the former, less of the latter. But hopefully Russia will take actions which will allow its national team back into hockey sooner than later.
