Yeah, it's a shame that the puck was basically destined to go into the goal when the referees missed a call or something. Nothing Campbell or anyone could do about it.

I gotta say, I'm not watching hockey all night every night, and I didn't watch the Avs series at all (why bother), but this Leafs-Lightning series still looks to me like -- notably -- the best hockey being played right now.

In terms of players closing gaps, making fast decisions, finding each other, being in position, handling the puck in tight, like -- it was just good, good hockey. I'm watching Calgary-Dallas right now and thinking these guys just play in a lower league.

Like, maybe Tampa gets beaten next round, but Florida didn't look that good against Washington to my eye. Calgary and Carolina didn't look that sharp. The Avs are probably the favorites, but that series was worthy of being a conference final, IMHO.

Why is it so hard to understand that they blew the whistle before Tavares got in the slot and took the shot? You can go back and watch it and hear the whistle. It's quiet because the Leafs fans decide to start screaming when a Leaf players touches the puck in the offensive zone.

Matthews is the most overrated player in the league. Been invisible all series other then a few tap ins or tips. Laughable he was compared to Mcdavid after what Mcdavid did in game 6 and took over.

It’s been awhile since I’ve seen so many excuses for a team that was 4th in the league in points. 4th in wins. 3rd in regulation wins. 2nd in goals. 6th in goal differential. Tied for 4th best home record. Was the higher seed and had home ice.

Even worse is the schizophrenic back pedaling from some who were so cocky going into the series and once the Leafs looked like they were in trouble, fell back on the excuse of having to face the two time defending champs.

Accept the L. You lost to the champs who have played a ton of hockey over the few years. For the most part, the Leafs fought hard and they were overall the better team for most of the series. Yet they still lost.

But let’s not forget that the Leafs were one of the best teams themselves this year. Obviously you were not worthy of being Stanley Cup champions and you merely got knocked out sooner than you might have if you drew someone else.

I never said anything about the whistle being blown before the goal. I did say the goal was called back but you know what I meant. It was an offensive interference penalty so technically the play is done as soon as Holl made the interference.

The Lightning showed a bunch of resilentcy by not letting Leafs take a 2 game lead in series. Lightning were in danger falling behind by 2 games 3 separate times during series. This is the main reason Lightning won this series; Lightning did it when it mattered most, and Leafs didn't take total advantage of the oppertunities they made for themselves. You've got 3 sperate chances to take a commanding 2 game series lead. You've gotta win one of those 3 games and bury your opponents will. Especially against a seasoned team. All the pointing to this or that is meh, the above is what decided series.

Great series and it's a shame this was a first round matchup. No one should feel any shame from losing this series.

If they can't beat Pointless Tampa they do not deserve to advance. I feel sorry for Leafs, though and would've very much preferred them to advance instead of Lightning. Hopefully Cats will be able to beat them.

Maybe not a stereotypical choke, but not good. Not good at all.

I can see where you’re coming from, but they were against the team that has all the experience in closing these series. Losing is obviously never good, but this was not a typical Leaf chokejob. They played good, they just got the worst possible opponent in the first round - the team who knows how to turn these series into their favor. That sucks the most for them.
