Not just that, you can't just compound all of the stats in a series and ignore that we had four games which were essentially over long before they were actually over.

If these positions all aren't addressed this summer, Shanahan and Dubas should both be gone before pre-season. I wouldn't pull the trigger on them after such a hard fought series, but a re-tool is absolutely crucial.

A top 4 dman and a 2nd line winger are worth 3.5-5.5 each in cap space unless addressed internally. A decent back up is worth 2.5 minimum. Where is this cap space coming from without creating a bigger hole in the roster?

I feel kind of bad for them, their teams are so trash they get a sense of accomplishment out of the Leafs losing. I pray we never become this desperate.

A top 4D and top 6 winger is going to be at least $8M - $11M combined. Backup will be around $1M to $2M. The Leafs need easily $10M in cap space to round out their team. And if I remember correctly, they have less than $3M in cap space next season?

Mikheyev 1.65M (he's walking)
Kessel 1.2M coming off the books
Kase 1.25M (he's walking)

Toronto should be moving all 3 of the guys I mentioned, it won't be too difficult.

Engvall is up for a raise
Soup is up for a raise
Riellys 2.5M raise kicks in
