From the first puck drop last night, the tension was high. Both teams played well enough to win Game 7.
Glad my Bolts came out on top. Kudos to Toronto for their great season.

Series was there for the taking in games 6 and 7 ( Especially after Tampa lost Point in game 7). Tampa looked vulnerable this series with subpar goaltending until game 7 and a team that looked gassed.
Leafs played well but in the end sports is about winning and losing. The results are the same as the last 5 years.
For some reason the players, especially the stars, just can’t get it done in the big moments. That needs to change for the team to take the next step.

Just read your user name and didn't bother reading the rest of your post, cool story though
If I were a Leafs fan, I wouldn’t have a response for that either. I don’t blame you for not having nothing to say - as I said, you got JimmyAppled

Tight series 5v5 but Toronto with the edge.

Toronto with a big advantage 4v4.

PPs similarly effective but TB just got more of them - and of course, most especially, the series saving laughable late game 2 minute 2 man advantage for the Bolts.

The favorable whistle and bonus PP time for the Bolts allowed them to make up for the even strength disadvantage and make it a near dead even series overall at all strengths:

I am glad the Leafs won the corsi cup.

Toronto showed some real class booing the national anthem ... Bolts sent the leafs home after the 1st round and the tradition continues. Best of luck next year! Lets Go Lightning!
What the hell u talking about? I was there. Not a single boo. Ridiculous take.

At a loss for words. How could this happen again. It defies explanation: As zeke has shown by way of statistical interpolation: Leafs were the better even strength team. But the refs had their finger prints all over this series. One more pp chance and maybe they get one more pp goal. Outcome completely different. Were the Leafs really the better team overall through the series? Statistical extrapolation suggests they were: mathematics, again, showing the leafs lose was a 5th straight black swan event!!!! And you sit here with your scientific, philosophical naturalistic, Darwinian world view and tell me that there is no God!?!?!?! Science can not explain five black swan events in a row!!

You could argue the leafs won the series really

Well fought series. I think this series was 2nd most difficult behind only the Florida series last year. That one was a bloodbath and every game except the clincher was up in the air.

Probably the best Toronto team in literally decades and you had the misfortune of running into Tampa in the first round. This was probably worthy of an ECF matchup, honestly. Best of luck next year, might get your rematch.

Just goes to show that these stats, as well as the Matthews imaginary stats used to call him the best player in the league, are totally useless lmfao

Again and again Stamkos vanished in game 7

Notice how the Tampa fans have been respectful and acknowledge the effort the Leafs played with. These random Sens/Habs/Jets fans are sad, trying so hard to bring us down but we know we have a great core.

The leafs shopping list before next season should be

New 2nd line LW
New 4th line C
New 4th line RW
Top 4-Dman
Competent back up goalie

If these positions all aren't addressed this summer, Shanahan and Dubas should both be gone before pre-season. I wouldn't pull the trigger on them after such a hard fought series, but a re-tool is absolutely crucial.

"Choker ! Trade him !"

Leafs fail year in and year out exhibiting a nice long trend but somehow it’s always exogenous factors that explain the failure. Never performance.

At least this series was pretty fair. Honestly, I thought refs would be making calls in favor of new face of NHL. Tampa got lucky they decided to go fair.

It won’t be any easier next year in that stacked Division. Sooner or later the Leafs are going to have beat a good team to get out of the first round. Moral victories just don’t cut it.

Yeah you guys really deserve a ton of respect with the bullshit you say on here lmfao

10 Matthews threads at a time on the main board

This is what happens when you never stfu, you get it thrown back in your face

This. When one team barely cares if they have the puck, but is only focused on keeping the puck out of one very specific area of the ice, a lot of these stats become useless.

TB barely possessed the puck in the 3rd. And it was a clinic in how to win a playoff game.
