Here is the grim reality

If the Bruins can hold on to the 4th pick, they have a shot at a good center that may make the team next year.

But you think we are a mess? Just take a look at the New York Rangers.

There are almost always teams in a worse position than yours. If the Bruins can cash in on a top 5 pick, make some other good moves in the offseason, get healthy and scoot straight back up the standings, they'll be extremely fortunate and this couple of months of bad hockey will be no more than a short, barely-remembered bad dream. Getting all that right won't be easy but at least they will be able to have a good crack at it.

Impossible to read how this game will go because the Devils, like the Canes who will shortly be their first round opponents, have absolutely nothing to play for other than their fans. That at least gives the Bruins a fighting chance and we are very much in that late stage of the season where we are seeing some strange results.

Maybe the best case scenario for Boston is an OT or narrow regulation loss where they put in a decent showing, someone not on the top line actually does something, but they don't add too much to the points total. Hopefully it's a good game because there have been some real snoozers in Newark over the years.

Jersey hasn’t clinched a spot just yet. Forgone conclusion they make it but they should be playing hard to make it official

What's the point of a good showing? half the guys playing out the string will be gone next season. Lose anyway you can, winning has no positive effect at this point. At least not to me.

I'm know I'm in the minority, but much rather see Habs in over Rags. It's where I live and grew up.

Too many trips to MSG in the 70's - something happens to a person entering that place. Reason, decentcy, and humility all evaporate and I've also lived in Yankee Stadium, Shea, Yale Bowl, the Meadowlands with family and friends and they never behaved as they did in MonoSodium Glutamate.

Many Rags fans laughed at deadline day . . .now Yanks season ended with injuries before season started and well my Jints . . . maybe we can draft 2-3 more QB's - hope Korpi's in net ;-)

As a long time hater of all NY teams, I've got to say that there was a stretch of time a year and a half ago where I worried that they were on the verge of being legit contenders for the next 3-4 years.

My, how the turntables have turned.

Looks like their much publicized 2018 rebuild and "Exciting New Chapter" for fans didn't work out the way they expected.
