loved it when the old guy told sue she looked great for 45. That must've made her day lol.

The Summit has been solid as well.
So the Summit is worth watching then? We've been thinking of waiting until the season is over so we can binge it. I don't really like trying to follow multiple live shows at the same time.

It's been solid. definitely better than Amazing Race IMO. Bunch of people racing to get to the top of the mountain as a group. People get voted off at times. The catch is that every one is carrying about $90,000 cash and if you vote them off you get to keep their cash for the group, but if they leave by other means (injury, etc) then the money goes with them. They added to the drama byu including some fat and/or old people in the cast who are really struggling.

Another good race show is on Peacock. Forgot what it;s called , but first season was in Alaska and the second season was in New Zealand.

Yeah I've seen a ton of ads for it between BB and Survivor. I love that they carry the cash on them and then divvy it up when someone gets voted out. Makes everyone keep the money right at the front of their mind.

Race to survive.

Worlds toughest race is also really good, albeit just one season. Its basically a bunch of the best adventure racers in the world doin a massive race that involves, hiking, canoeing and a bunch of other stuff. The people in that show are crazy and just never stop. Always been a sucker for these types of show ever since I started watching the challenge forever ago.

LOVED world's toughest race. It was a rebirth of the old ECO Challenge from 20 years ago which was a fantastic reality short run series as well. If you can ever find it definitely check it out.

another great ep. Hopefully the trend continues. Interesting that there doesn't appear to be any semblance of tribal alliances going into the merge.

Next ep we'll find out if Sam screwed up by agreeing to let Andy be the back up plan.

Is there a "definition" for what the merge actually is? Does it mean making it to one beach or making it to jury? Because if it is just making it to one beach, they definitely merged before they said they merged.

In the past few seasons they would do the two teams, one sit out/pick who they think will win, and then the winning team is totally safe. They had to "earn" the merge, which those who won that challenge did. This time they did something similar, but the twist was only one of them "earns" the merge at that challenge... which is just a regular challenge in the "post merge" world.

Like they put them on one beach, said you're not merged yet, ran a challenge and tribal with rules they would do in a "post merge" game, and then said they were merged. Like that was just a regular individual immunity challenge and tribal. So I feel like they technically merged before they said they merged.

Semantics, I guess, and I'd rather Rome not be able to say he "made the merge", even though I think he did.

Jeff has come full circle. He's back at the original merge concept but doesn't realize it.

yea, it was funny how Jeff said they were gonna do something totally different by unleashing this crazy twist where all the contestants would live together on one beach, compete for 1 individual immunity necklace and then go to a tribal council where everyone would be vulnerable except the person who won immunity.

So in other words, we're gonna mix it up and do it the exact same way we did it for the first 40 something seasons of the show.

I'm not against a straight-up edit of the show without the tricks. I think you have to keep the audience honest once in a while, but I also think that they did Rome dirty. There have been so many douchebags on the show that they gave good edits for, and somehow this was the once in a blue moon where they wanted to paint someone as a douchebag.

I have no problem with Rome's personality either. Obviously wasn't going to result in a player who would win Survivor, but he's a real character, a real personality. He's himself. That's the type of person you want to see on the show. Makes for good TV. Cast more Rome's.

Disagree that they did him dirty. He was an over the top character so they gave him over the top editing in his swan song episode. Thought it was perfect.

You didn't really address my point.

I said I'm okay with that type of edit. What I'm not okay with is making him the only one in this new era who gets the asshole edit.

There've been plenty of assholes they let off free.

Seems harder to give a misleading edit from confessionals; his posture and ranting in those are insufferable and lack self awareness. I think the lack of misdirection was a little refreshing, but also just showed that there was no backup plan needed as everyone knew it so easy to placate Rome.It seems common for the first vote when merged to just have a unanimous pick before the real fight starts. Also ; the fact that this man was so confident he didn't even vote where he was supposed to was pure lulz.

anyway, this season is somewhat boring but not horrible I suppose, we shall see how post merge goes

Being able to get up and walk around and talk to each other about who to vote for at tribal council shouldn't be allowed. The whole point of advantages and idols is to shake things up and letting players get up and talk to each other ruins it.

I didn't like the woman who went home anyway so I don't even care that this was the reason she went home but you have all day after the challenge to talk and strategize, that's your time to do it, not at tribal itself.

I tend to agree with you, however this twist specifically giving a person a safety without power, was the producers attempt to artificially lock in the "live tribal" that we saw. So I think Jeff+showrunners rather like those kinds of trials so expect them to do more to create these kinds of tribals.

The biggest thing I think happened here for going forward was Rachel selling out Sol. Why did she tell them it came from the other 6? Just say you found it and then wait for the person who sent it to show themselves to you the next day. Blurting out that it got sent to you...just not smart, IMO. Thankfully, the metaphorical axe on this one is more likely to fall on Andy for this rather than Sol cause Andy was the one caught snooping around at the feast.

Good episode. I liked the twist. Sol has no chance to win, but he played that perfectly.

My power rankings of those left that can win.

1. Genevieve-Playing a great game. If she can stay enough under the radar, one of the better female players in a long time.

2. Sam-I worry he gets a little too cocky (young 20’s male), but playing a good game.

3. Sierra-I think she’s in a good place, but I’ve felt the last few episodes she’s losing autonomy.

4. Rachel-She’s doing a solid job. Good social player and perceptive. Gonna be a big coup to say she escaped that disastrous draw.

5. Gabe-First week I’m thinking he’s a winning candidate. I thought he was going home, but his connections kept him over Tiyana when he’s the more dangerous player.

6. Andy-First week I’m thinking he’s a winning candidate. He’s probably too clumsy overall to win, but he’s playing the game and has moments where he knows what he’s doing.
