you need to fact check on defensive play, just making general comments. Wolves are one of the leaders in 5 vs 5 play, and limiting opponents shots. 10 th in league in goals against. Special Teams, the PP last, and PK 16th are they're downfall.

Eastern Conference shows alot of parity at the moment. Wolves are 4 points from first in conference, and 3 points from first place Missy in division. We had a good weekend and hope Wolves keep building on it.
I don’t disagree. The facts you want me to check are from NY Rangers NHL and are well articulated and supported

I agree with you, special teams are our demise currently. The facts you want me to check are supported and well articulated in the interview by NY Rangers Valiquette. They are NHL stats. When DMac arrived after Christmas last season he made defensive style hockey a priority and we rarely gave up over 21 shots/game. This season we haven’t had the full commitment to team D play. Last Friday against London we did. 21 shots and a 9-2 win. Up until mid third against Oshawa we did (18 shots to that point) and for reasons unknown we went total run and gun style and barely hung onto the win. This should never happen with a 3 goal lead with less than 10 mins to go.
Last night was a lot like the Branford game, no commitment to D.
Putting up 40 shots per night is only impressive when we limit the other team to low/low 20s…
The players can’t commit for 53 mins and do what they want the rest of the way.
I get they are kids who are developing but the challenge is getting a full 60 mins.

Just to peek ahead. Wolves in all probability lose the entire 1st line next season, along with Taylor( trade) I believe. What will this team look like.

Just read an article that the city is expropriating property in the downtown core for a new arena possibly. What's everyone's thoughts that this will actually transpire? A shame KED was killed, hopefully this isn't just another project that meets the same fate..

KED would have been a bad investment for the city, great for Zullich, partners, and those in the industrial park behind the Kingsway property imo.
Egress would have horrible too, but at least there would be free parking at the expense of home property owners.

I can see a downtown project as being feasible if a conference centre is incorporated and aged infrastructure repaired (at the same time).

My belief is that the new council wants to build a new arena in that spot. The vote to see if a reno of the old building (completely stupid IMHO) or a new building with about 6000 seats will happen in the spring - I read that on the city website not long ago (all the plans are there). Hopefully it gets done.

If they had built the KED when it was first suppose to the city would look brilliant . Now the costs have almost tripled…

I'm guessing this is sarcasm. But if you sell this year, fold the team. Wolves would be a bigger embarrassment than Niagara.

Anyone have word on Mania, Anania and Vondras? Injury or sickness. Have they practiced this week?

From the sudbury.com article. Crazy hwo Sudbury is the only team in the OHL dealing with injuries, suspensions, illness, etc. If only he had a full lineup, Ken MacKenzie would have them running a 30% powerplay, and actually saving pucks in the first 5 minutes of every game...

As coach Ken MacKenzie said following Monday’s 5-3 loss in Peterborough, not one time has he had a full slate of players to choose from this season when filling out his lineup card, thanks to injuries, illness, suspensions, players returning from the pro ranks and other lineup fluctuations. Next chance is a 7:05 puck drop against the Barrie Colts on Friday night at Sudbury Community Arena, but a few players came out of last weekend a bit banged up, so a full lineup seems unlikely at this point.

That "repaired" infrastructure you speak of is going to cost an absurd amount... An attempt to repair most infrastructure downtown will open a can of worms this city might never navigate out of.
Just my opinion of course.

Local media too afraid to call a spade a spade. Wasn’t it the Sault Star that wrote an article about Connor Burgess when that debacle went down?

Meh, nobody else cares, so I’m starting to wonder why I do about this team.

Facts i feel the same way. Tired of waiting for an actual ownership or management that just does things simple. Why does Sudbury take a decade for one good year. North bay and the Soo have had multiple years of having teams go deep into the playoffs in fact one year lapses and then back at the top of standings they go. (Soo) Northbay lose most of their big guns in multiple seasons and still remain competitive and have a better head to head with Sudbury. You have to ask at some point why that happens? But it seems nobody really does care at the end of the day . Well the ones who make the decisions anyway! We just have to be used to mediocracy.

If you ask RP get will bring up the COVID year. Which he thought then, he had put together a good team. I can't even remember who was on that team to be honest. Next season I'm curious to see how this team will score goals.

That 2020 team has a shot on Byfields back alone. We still should have bought the year before when we had the best player in the entire OHL tho.

23 games in, 1/3 of the season done. Papineau's Wolves sitting with a record of 12-10-1. In a contending year? Pretty disappointing record TBH. Don't want to hear the excuses from Kenny/Paps. Simply not good enough so far. I'm surprised Papineau doesn't get more heat around here.

Luckily for the Wolves the Eastern Conference stinks this year and the Wolves are only 5 points out of 1st in the Conference behind the Petes, and that's with the Wolves losing two in regulation recently to those same Petes.
