Wolves honest effort tonight, but need to execute too many miss opportunities. Krawchuck needs to be better. Took 2 out of 3 good weekend.

Bad bench management. Who is the forward coach oh my goodness. That was the worst drawn up plan. In addition that line was out for over three minutes. Pharand who worked the boards well last night was not on the ice. We were not heavy enough. This team has so many glaring issues. No excuses for the bench management to allow a line to play for over 3 minutes of the game. Delic, Walton, Coughlan, Pharand no where to be found. McCallum was put in situations tonight and didn’t deserve to. Was lazy most of the night. What are these coaches watching?

WJ
I didn’t see Delic at all in the 3rd period. Hurt or benched?

Pete Dalliday and Scott Arnold are considered two one of the best broadcasters in the OHL. They are totally impartial. That was a slewfoot by Landon McCallum on Jonathan Melee.
Such a slewfoot that the refs watched a reply and decided no penalty occurred.

I'd find it hard to believe they're even two of the best broadcasters in Peterborough on any given night.

Major red flags with this team all over the place, as noted by many. Best game of the season Friday, but that's just one game. Consistency, cohesiveness, accountability, coaching, structure, stupidity, goaltending. This is all on Papineau. His coaching staff. His players. No more excuses for Paps - get to work.

We will never win when a line is allowed to stay out for over 3 minutes left in the game. And then put back out after a time out. It’s painful to watch because this alone will kill any team choesiveness.

That falls on coaching and accountability. These long shifts gives me vibes of the early Levin and Sokolov days with Matsos. Stillman came in and nipped that in the bud very quickly.

They're not allowed to stay out; that's the actual gameplan. Can't blame the players for doing as their told.

I don’t buy popcorn or beer. I like my seat. Pete Dalliday was the Petes radio play by play announcer for years and was regarded by many as one of the best in the businesss along with his father, Gary Dalliday who did the colour commentary. Pete moved to TV after the radio station he works got pulled out of broadcasting the games. During time the radio and now on TV he does his job in an impartial and professional way. Him and Scott Arnold work well together.

Our style of play is not working. Low percentage 20-40 foot passes all over the ice. No puck support to be found anywhere. Our pass completion rate is about the same as our PP success rate. Gap between 3 high forwards and backing D is to massive. We rarely start a break out with forward support behind the puck. You can’t skill your way to a championship. Your skill MUST support each other with 6-10 ft passes and play responsible in all three zones. Slot continues to be problem in DZone. We have found success on net drives and bringing the puck to the net.
Very good points.
Here’s my recap for fun:
How much time did the Wolves let the Petes tie up the puck along the boards, helping to kill their own penaltes.

Once again, did they start the game game on time?

We’re they out outplayed in net, did they get any early saves?

Do they always make way too many passes, including many of the hope someone’s there variety that often result in turnovers and were several guilty of multiple turnovers?

Could they execute and hit the net or get enough shots through?

Were they able to take control of the game with several power plays (certainly got the calls tonight)?

Did they show anywhere near enough urgency to tie the game.

What do you think this spells?

How about C O A C H I N G

From what I hear paps is a tool (man is not well liked) and Zulich has no idea how to win (several sources)

Paps should have already moved to address some of these issues, up to and including coaching.

Sorry. Dont see it at all at this point. The best line in your post was essentially that you do not win championships on skill alone. Seems that’s been mentioned before,,,ahem,

Why do I have this terrible feeling we’re all headed for a massive letdown and blown opportunity because of incompetent management and an owner who likely doesn’t even realize the extent of the incompetence and shortcomings?
Heaven help us. I want to see changes before the break. I won’t hold my breath though.

Dumping and chasing when you have 0 forecheck presence might be the most fascinating decision made consistently by the Wolves. They just give up possession for free, constantly.

This team gets what it deserves. Out coached yet again.
Another spot on observation I didn’t mention.

No kicking motion that I saw but I agree, they’re a good, entertaining combo and not usually homers at all though they did sound slightly homerish at times. They didn’t call the Mcallum penalty a slew foot either by the way and there were some questionable calls, specifically when Musty and a Petes player essentially ran into each other resulting in a penalty for the Petes.

Speaking of Mcallum, I think an upgrade should be definitely be on the table though I’m not sure what other OA’s are available.

Wolves need a couple of high end fowards that play the right way and can lead . Then hope your leadership group buys in. S

Been watching Collins lately. Turnovers. Actually think he plays a little too much and gets exposed. They also need a high end dman who eats minutes but doesn't hurt the team .

Even as much as Tourre brings he can be a turn over machine too. Agree about a shakeup and some quality adds. This team especially the top line is too comfortable right now.

Hurt. Beck hit him in the corner and he couldn't stand up, just shuffled to the bench.
I woke up this morning thinking i might have got Delic mixed up with Konyen. One of them took the brunt of it, but I am now thinking might have been Konyen? Anyone else remember?
