Nonsense, GMs have to gauge this all the time. The kid was a 5th rounder. Played as a 16 year old, but sparingly and only managed 8 pts in 38 games. Mania (4th rounder) as a defenseman had more production. I think a solid argument could be made for Mania to be worth close to 2.4 but Derbidge?

Players don't suddenly jump from being 5th rounders to being worth more than a 2nd round pick in one year of limited use.
Hey, would love to see a 2 & 4 for Derbridge, but agreed it might be steep - however - if we can even suggest pre-season is worth consideration - the kid had 7 points including 5 goals, in 5 games, and was a plus 7. The 5 goals tied him for the lead in pre-season scoring and so did the Plus 7. (He was only two points from being in a tie for most points as well) I certainly think there is very good value in the kid, and could understand if he was upset with where he ended up being slotted. He obviously came in prepared this year. Some kids do jump from being a 5th to a 2nd...we'll see what the GMs say.

thats kind of what i think, if he was that good he wouldnt be at home, a 4th or 5th is more then fair, anything more then that is greedy. id like to think they have lessened the ask given he hasnt been traded yet.

Pfff you know that means an ounce of baloney in this league. Outwater didn't produce that much last year and he went for a 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th. I don't think Paps is unreasonable to be asking for a 2nd and 4th. I guess the Soo won’t get him lol.

Another weekend of wolves hockey. 25 goals against thus far. DeGrazia is back, Delic out. Should be interesting

More ice time at a lower level should benefit him for sure.
What would be your solution. Send him home??? Surely he will practice with the big club and get called up when required but playing in a league with guys that are the same age at the OHL 17-20 can only be beneficial no? All teams do it. Or should we send him to the USHL..

Not sure why you're getting so defensive, I'm literally saying him playing a lot in Jr. A is better for him then getting caved in defensively 9 minutes a night in the OHL

No you weren’t. You were sarcastic. Don’t twist your own words. But whatever I don’t care what they do to be honest. Not defensive just didn’t know why you had to quote me that it was beneficial for Bishop to get more ice time to develop in Espo.

I did not think it was sarcastic. I read it as he was agreeing with you.
Now, getting rid of Anania, I take as sarcasm! :)

I quoted, it because it's a discussion board, and it was discussion. Sorry if that is too nuanced to you and you'd rather people ignore your posts.

Should be a good one tonight. Hopefully Wolves get off to a good start. Going to be a tough one tonight with Mesar making his debut with Kitchener. Mesar is dangerous. Should be a packed house and Kitchener will be fired up

Looking at the season so far, and a lot of the games that have gone down, this feels like one of the rare years where the East is looking a lot stronger to the West, am I wrong to think that?

No, so far the east has looked a lot stronger. But by the end of the year, the east might look like the slightly better conference.
