First of all, I think we all agree that Alex isn’t quite on his game. But never think for one moment that he is not a key player on this team. The way I look at Alex is he has Delic puck handling skills trapped in a bigger body. I find Alex is most affective when he plays a hard game. He doesn’t need to fight but he should be feared physically. I loved to see this mild natured young man get meaner, Zack Stortini type of meanness. Having said that, Alex has so much skill. Strong skater with great edges, see the ice well and has a bullet shot. I loved him in bumper position on PP, being that net front presence that takes the goalies eyes away. Right now, I do believe he is off his game. He seems confused and looks like a player who is trying to find a role. But what is fans can’t be confused about is Alex is a high end kid/player. Other than trading Sokolov years back to ensure we got Byfield, the Stillman for Pharand trade might be the best trade Paps has ever made up till now. Not for the boatload of draft picks but for the player. This kid will find his way, work ethic is off the charts and good guys always win! Alex Pharand is a great player and a great person. Besides that he is one of us, a local boy. Show some love please.
Amen. Well said.

Pick your poison for the Wolves 1st Round match-up - North Bay or Barrie?

Both teams are hot right now. Both teams are stacked on paper. Both teams have extremely good goalies in DiVincentiis and Thornton. On the back end both teams have offensive studs in Clarke and Nelson which poses major problems for the opposition.

I don't think it will really matter who the Wolves face. Either North Bay or Barrie will be extremely tough match-ups for the Wolves to handle in a best of 7 series. All we can hope for is the Wolves put up a good fight and maybe surprise by winning a game or two.

So pick your poison. Which team would you prefer the Wolves face 1st Round?

I'll vote North Bay. Just to build up that Northern rivalry again, and I'll end up going to see a game in North Bay if they play them 1st Round. I've never been to a game in North Bay before, would be a cool experience.

I think a series against Barrie may be more winnable, but a series against North Bay would certainly be more fun/hatred filled. Both will be entertaining regardless of result, will be nice to have playoff hockey back.

Agreed, very pumped to have playoff hockey back

If we ever got stellar goaltending anything can happen. Will be interesting to see Dereks approach if he can pull something out of his hat. New season everyone starts off with o points. Big game tonight we still have 8 possible points to grab that could still change things.

I agree with WJ that Pharand looks burnt out/fatigued to me. I'm a big fan and see him as a player that could breakout to become a PPG player next season.

Both Barrie & North Bay are rolling right now and have both put up a 6-1 record against the Wolves thus far. Both series will be entertaining as heck - but give me Barrie in round one. 2 postseason wins against either of these teams would be a very strong showing for the Wolves.

The last game against Barrie was a war. I think it might even be more hate filled than against the Bay. It’s been like that with Barrie for some time.

Don't look now, but Sudbury with a game in hand and 4 points back of Hamilton for 5th after Hamilton's loss tonight. Unfortunately Mississauga pulled out the W. It's gonna be a dog fight between Hamilton, Mississauga and Sudbury for 5th. Petes not safe in 4th either. Last home game of the season next Friday could set up to be an absolute dandy with Hamilton in town

Besides the big guns on the first line (boy how fun will they be to watch next year) and McCallum, I thought Coughlan and Yearwood were real good again tonight! Loved Anania, Bressard was dialed in!! When Bressard plays at the top of the paint and stays square to shooter, there can’t be much to shoot at. Like Chromiack tonight, simple and clean. I always love Boudreau, intensity and work ethic, he doesn’t get a lotta love on here but boy is he an important piece to this team! A DM player. I agree Pharand was all over it tonight and had a great game. Overall, a pleasure to watch a great team win!!

Nice win...officiating was awful again...People were posting that Pharand was not playing well. I specifically watched him tonight I hope these posters change their minds as he was all over the ice tonight...a full 200 foot game.
I did the same tonight. Covers the ice very well. The only knock on him was not being able to keep the puck deep against the wall. It was turned over too easy. However his neutral zone coverage is fantastic. As I said earlier he played a lot of hockey this year in a league where is still only 17 and having to be called on a lot because of injuries and suspensions. He was just a bit run down. Hopefully he can find his legs as we get near the end here and is able to get a few days off.

Loved loved Yearwood's game tonight. Forecheck was relentless. Disrupted many breakouts and also controlled the puck in the corners and was able to dish off. DM is finding confidence in him and is using him in key situations. Another apple tonight.

Agreed with Anania. Blocks shots every game. He along with McCallum are locks. It will come down to Toure and Boudreau. Larmand just put himself out of the equation with all his suspensions this year.

Great game by Brassard. I think he's finding his game at the OHL level. The speed and level is much higher than I think he has ever played. But hey I will take that effort from him the last 3 games. Made some huge stops tonight when we needed them.

Overall with missing bodies on defence we found a way to beat a very potent front 6 from the Petes. We are 7-3 in the last 10. Not too shabby. Unfortunate Missy won tonight. But still some interesting games coming up. We can control our own destiny with the last 4 games.

Well well……how about that. Great for the kid. Hope it really helps his confidence. He made several 10 bell saves. Great night at the barn. Love the script. Festive atmosphere, good hockey game and of course the Wolves win ☘️🍻Sorry folks looked for a green beer emogi but couldn’t find one 😉😎
