Nice win...officiating was awful again...People were posting that Pharand was not playing well. I specifically watched him tonight I hope these posters change their minds as he was all over the ice tonight...a full 200 foot game.
Man, I don’t know I hate to go down that road but it didn’t make any sense when Musty was hit no review no nothing . We never get those kind of breaks. Then we get a series of calls, most were pretty soft. I don’t know maybe it’s the reputation. Anyway, I agree about the officiating tonight for sure. By the way, it’s too bad that Laurentian University guys aren’t there more often. Man there are a lot of fun. If I was Zulich, I’d give them tickets.

I would say Anania is pretty much a lock for one of the 3 OA spots next season
For me the other two are Mcallum and Touree. Barring some Euro goalie phenom.

Besides the big guns on the first line (boy how fun will they be to watch next year) and McCallum, I thought Coughlan and Yearwood were real good again tonight! Loved Anania, Bressard was dialed in!! When Bressard plays at the top of the paint and stays square to shooter, there can’t be much to shoot at. Like Chromiack tonight, simple and clean. I always love Boudreau, intensity and work ethic, he doesn’t get a lotta love on here but boy is he an important piece to this team! A DM player. I agree Pharand was all over it tonight and had a great game. Overall, a pleasure to watch a great team win!!
How can I have forgotten Villineuve…this kid does it all and will also be treat to watch in the years to come. Like him on the PP right side of Umbrella (off wing) with his one timer. He needs to teach some his teammates how to hit the net…

I’m not sure on Toure?? Nice problem to have…as someone already mentioned on here, you keep four until the deadline.

I love Tourre. Reminds me of Larry Robinson sometime when he heads down the ice. Big strong, physical another years experience I don’t know what to me its a no-brainer.

The kids 200 foot game is unreal!!! If he only can grow another inch or two. That kid has 3rd line pro career written all over him. Insane how he is for only 16.

Im really stoked to watch him next year with all the firepower up front especially if we get Dvorsky after the NHL draft.

As for the young d-men. Walton is very calm when moving the puck out of the defensive zone. I think he may surprise a lot of us next year. Looking forward to his development. Best thing the Wolves did was have him close all year playing a ton with Espo and practicing with the big club.

No matter how things go moving forward, Blue Collar Wolf Fans gotta love how Brass has worked his tail off to be a decent starting tender. Remember, he cost us NOTHING. Gotta love the commitment by both him and the team. Now Chucky, it’s your turn buddy, go steal one from our Northern Neighbour.

Although it might not be clear right now, I'll predict Toure will make it very obvious he is our 3rd OA when he comes to camp next year.

Remember it's only his first year in the league although he's on 03'.

6'7", can skate end to end with the puck on occasion, physical. There was a stretch in the fall where he looked like our best D - some were wondering if he could be on NHL radars. I didn't like when they kept throwing him up on the 4th line, I thought it killed his momentum developing on D. And of course his penalty minutes are too high & he's gotta reign that in. I think there's too much potential here and I think he will deliver come next year.

Mania isn’t going anywhere. 17 years old, draft eligible, offensive minded D that can skate like the wind. Not going anywhere. He needs to improve D zone coverage and receiving the puck from a pass always seems to bobble. I’d like to see him play 2-3 feet inside blue line in OZ so his bobbles don’t leave the zone..guys like Mania are hard to find. He was a higher ranked player (late first/early second rounder)than where we picked him because teams didn’t think he’d report. Playing on Musty’s team in draft year helped get him here. Nice piece of drafting.

Unless you are letting McCallum go, I am not sure the wolves could be top tier contenders with that D corps. Are you believing Mania and the (trade) would be the equivalent of DelMastro-Kyrou?
I think the 3rd-OA spot has to be (Simpson) or the very best overall over age player. The OAs have to be very good imo; otherwise, the team would have to completely empty the cupboards for a 19 yr old G, D, & F while not developing a 16-17 yr old G & D at the OHL level.

I agree! My chart was an attempt at a potential D core going into next season with a player being acquired via trade

Maybe they're not top tier contenders - just trying to put together a realistic prediction for next year. I don't think the Wolves will realistically be able to ice a DelMastro-Kyrou pairing next year.

I do agree that it's possible the Wolves may need to spend the last OA spot somewhere else - time will tell though

I luv the untapped potential of Toure as well and being an asset we also got for nothing he should be given strong consideration for an OA spot for next year. Memorial Cup being awarded to an OHL team will make carrying 4 OAs up till deadline even more valuable IMO.

Yep for sure he must listen to us posters on this board lol

Best value for OAs is at end of the pre-season. Only 3-5 of the very best OAs have value approaching the trade deadline. The rest are difficult to move so dealt at discount or released.

I think the division will still be tough next year, Ottawa, North Bay, Mississauga, Hamilton, Barrie should still be strong for next season. So hopefully Papineau is proactive instead of reactive. And get most of the pieces in offseason to start next season.

Maybe.
I think there is 60% chance NB is a serious contender with a league best defense-goalie combination, and 40% chance a Missasauga/Hamilton type sell is irresistible.
And I think the conference might be a little weaker over all next season and possibly wide open before 2-3 teams spend wildly proceeding the deadline.
Then 2-3 very strong years with 5-6 of Missasauga, Kingston, Hamilton, Ottawa, Barrie, Niagara, Oshawa, Sudbury loaded with 2005-07 born.

Still lots of roster construction to be done by all teams, but on paper Sudbury is my favourite for the Central next year as of right now. I think their main competition is Barrie. North Bay will lose lots of players after going on two deep runs and will likely sell their veterans next year similar to Hamilton this year. Mississauga I think is one year away from being a contender. Niagara is Niagara. Ottawa looks to be strong again & lead the East division.

Sudbury
Barrie

North Bay
Mississauga

Niagara

Not sure about trading Mania. The guy has too much offensive upside.

I agree that the East doesn't look particularly strong & quite wide open as of right now. The West will be the class of the league with London, Saginaw, Owen Sound, Guelph.
