Dylan Strome.

Honestly, I see shades of Mats Sundin in his game. He'd be a game changing pick

It's Hanifin or Marner for me. Wouldn't be too sad getting Strome though.

I love Strome. I want a Canadian. I don't want another US boy. But you have to take the D first.

That's what she said! Seriously though, we have D prospects and C is just as important

We have middling D prospects that look like they'll be 2nd pairing at best, 3rd pairing most likely. We have Finn, Percy and Granberg? Maybe Gardiner? A true top pairing defender will always be the most valuable commodity. When was the last time a top pairing guy was moved? Suter at Free Agency? Phaneuf?

There's a reason, the prices for top pairing D-men are astronomical and are almost never moved. Hanifin over Strome. You have to be a truly phenomal center to go over a guy like Hanifin and it only speaks to the level Eichel and McDavid are at.

We have Rielly and a bunch of guys that have the potential to top out as second pairing guys, that's pretty damn good if you ask me. Who's to say we can't find a good top pairing guy with the Nashville pick or next year? It's more likely to find a good defenceman with a later pick than a potential No.1 center

And we have guys like Nylander, Kessel, JVR, Kadri and a other guys who can be 2nd-3rd liners. Whats to say we can't draft a good forward with Nashville's pick? Point is. If its Strome or Hanifin, the smart money is Hanifin all day. Having Hanifin - Rielly is like Seabrook - Keith.

3 wingers (one which is likely getting shipped out) and a 2nd line center... Kind of not the same.

Way too much talk about organisational need for year 1 of a rebuild. The team should and most likely will pick the player they foresee as the more impactful player down the line.

Marner for me, size is great but how many skill less centres must we go through.

I'll take giroux over colbourne any day.

We havent selected an American in the first round since Biggs. Since then we've selected Percy, Gauthier, Rielly and Nylander in the first round. Most of our picks in the last five years are Canadiam. Our roster is primarily Canadian. The myth that we're all American is just that, a myth.

Love Strome, but I'd take Hanifin quite easily.

I value a #1 defencemen over a #1 centre (slightly) - but overall I just think Hanifin is the better prospect.

Its a hard one I ideally want both but seeing how that would be next to impossible unless Arizona wants kessel for that first we cant only choose one. id pick Strome big physical scoring centre is something we covet big time.
