Same. I was 8 & understood nothing, but I do recall watching them win Game 1 in Montreal.

Of course it was hell growing up in Queens while the Isles went to the Finals the next 5 years. I still remember all those Drive for Five bumper stickers. Nobody in Edmonton rooted harder for the Oilers than I did in '84.
It’s amazing. When I was 8 I didn’t understand anything. It was a lot of skating and then occasionally a goal. My kids are so much more switched on. I think it’s their exposure to so much media, especially interactive media. So much more switched on than I was as a kid.

Found this pic of Hurricanes fans crawling back to their cesspool while whining what is being posted here. Same typical preteen losers celebrating Fox getting hurt. Enjoy your bitch made players lol looking forward to all the posts over there about how they hope Trouba doesn't do something since Aho too much of a coward to even go with Laf after his interference play injured another player.

Cheering for Trouba to give Jarvis another nice brain knock to the back to his skull next time out, put him on the IQ level of the normal Hurricanes fan
Not hoping for any concussions but I know how you feel.

i mean every fanbase has their share of scumbag fans, you see it around the league pretty much every time someone gets injured by their team, so not fair to paint their fanbase as a whole in any specific light. the fact that they're a southern team and in large part newer to the sport/have a higher % of fans that never played the sport at any even decent level. so given that, not really a surprise to see some takes that demonstrate a lack of any fundamental understanding of the game, nevermind the nuances of body positioning.

honestly don't have any issue with the play aho made, i don't think there's any intent to get him with his leg. he was trying to catch a piece of fox and fox trying to slip around him led to it being knee on knee instead of catching a piece of his shoulder. interference? sure. a major or sussy? no way.

that said, the way aho handled it after was pathetic. at the end of the day, his attempt to interfere with the rangers best player resulted in his being injured. believe it or not, the rangers weren't happy about it. own it, sack up, and answer the bell. him dodging that the rest of the game said all you need to know about him. he's a shrinking violet, he wants no part of getting his hands dirty and standing toe to toe with someone. the only thing noticeable about him the rest of the game was him running away from rangers asking him to go. he was out on the perimeter staying as far from contact as possible. the next game will probably be a lot worse for him. had he dropped the gloves it woulda been water under the bridge. now it's gonna follow him and the rangers are in his kitchen bigtime.

honestly that's gotta be a crushing loss for the entire canes team mentally. the rangers are forced to play most of the game 2 men down, including their best player, first game back off a 5 game west coast trip and the rangers are the team that gut out the 3rd period goal and outwork the canes to close it? with the canes best player running away from answering the bell most of the night? that's a team without a backbone.

No respect for Aho, accident or not, you answer the bell. That is the code most players have. Much respect for Lafy for trying to go after him after Fox got hurt. If the game was wide open I bet someone would have taken the instigator. Hopefully the Trouba train against Aho happens on January 2.

Carolina lost the 1-1 battles against the Rangers. That's all they have and if they can't win those, then the Rangers will bitch walk them all season and in the POs. This is the difference between a Gallant team and a Laviolette team.

The Canes do NOT want to turn this into a grudge match, Trouba calling out Aho for being a frightened bitch is one thing but Trouba actively hunting Aho or Jarvis or Tervainen is a big problem for the Canes season and PO hopes. Just whimper away softly is what Carolina needs to do to rack up their regular season points like every year.

Not sure if anyone brought this up but previous Rangers come back from that awesome road trip and lose 4-1 at home. Going into the game I was hoping for an OT point. Lost our top D and 2C and still won. Have to give Lavi a ton of credit so far.

I’m not an optimistic person by nature but I’m going to choose to be positive about the Fox thing. He got up and looked fine when he went over to complain to the ref (something he’s been doing a lot of lately which I don’t really appreciate).

Rammer got let go because he mishandled Lindgren and who knows who else. You know how this team has been crazy lucky with injuries over the last several years? Maybe they actually haven’t been, and the previous regime was allowing them to play through things that they shouldn’t have.

The pendulum is swung in the opposite direction right now. Abundance of caution.

My guess is that Fox doesn’t make the trip to Minnesota and that we see him against NJ.

The more I watch the replay the more Im convinced that it was.

Looks like he tried to "oops" his way into Fox. Only he knows the truth but intentional or not, he should answer for it.

"incidental contact" when Aho was skating directly at him without the puck. Plus Aho turns at the last second so Fox cant avoid him.

Everyone knows the Canes wont answer the bell because last time they did Svechnikov went night night.

I'm not sure it was intentional. But he's legit looking at him and getting in his way without the puck being there. So I mean it was avoidable and didn't need to happen. Intentional, accidentally on purpose or accidental.

Cuylle had a good scoring opportunity before the goal. He gets to the inside. He gets to the paint. Maybe the Rangers should give him more responsibility. I remember he was used on the PK by Canada in the 2022 WJC played in the summer in Edmonton.

He handles the puck pretty well too. I think his potential is high. The way I see it, if Cuylle is already a solid 3rd liner, and Othmann looks good when hes called up, it may be curtains for Kakko in a Ranger jersey. You can't pay everybody and the lack of production into year 5 is starting to worry me.

Foxy has always been elastic but the tone of everyone makes me nervous. I long for Gallant to tell me he's "day to day."

I'll be optimistic and say its a bone bruise or sprain. Seemed cautious to keep him out the rest of last nights game and the business trip to Minnesota. Chytil is more concerning at the moment because he literally cannot stay healthy. He hasnt been fully healthy since he went to the Worlds this past summer.

hopefully a future 20+20 guy

I've said with injuries, they've been cautious.

I really want to know how bad it was last season for this extreme to take place. It doesn't mean Fox isn't hurt, but take it into consideration.

the fact he played a couple shifts ( i think ) after the knee... should bode well?
