He handles the puck pretty well too. I think his potential is high. The way I see it, if Cuylle is already a solid 3rd liner, and Othmann looks good when hes called up, it may be curtains for Kakko in a Ranger jersey. You can't pay everybody and the lack of production into year 5 is starting to worry me.
Chytil, Kakko the starting base for Pettersson.

The only similarity that I see is the good skating and offensive ability. Cuylle doesn't fight often and doesn't blow up people.

Agree to disagree. He's played 14 career games and has a couple fights and definitely hits hard.

Aho refusing to answer the bell makes him a coward. All the players in the league should take note of that. Players have had to answer the bell even for clean hits. Players don't judge if it's clean or not. You hurt a guy, their teammates are coming after you, clean or not. That's how it is. That's the code.

The next time the teams meet, one of them will have to answer the bell, probably right at opening faceoff, whether it's Aho or not. I hope it's Aho and his little Frodo face gets smashed in.

The player Rod Brind'amour would have went after Aho and given the little shit a new nose to match his. And if he wasn't his coach, he would have gone after him with words for sure.

Thats the kind of trade the Rangers should be looking to make at this stage of their window. 2 or 3 for 1 for another stud. Chytil, Kakko, Schneider are all pieces that I dont consider untouchable, but definitely have a high value around the league. Call me crazy but Laf is moving into the "i dont want to trade him" territory because I like his hard nosed style and play with Panarin.

I've said with injuries, they've been cautious.

I really want to know how bad it was last season for this extreme to take place. It doesn't mean Fox isn't hurt, but take it into consideration.

the fact he played a couple shifts ( i think ) after the knee... should bode well?

He played at least one but that isn't really indicative of anything.

My money would be on a hyperextension but I don't like how his knee was already bowed inwards at point of contact.

Frolov was skating around after an ACL tear.

If it's something like that, we'd be lucky to see Fox in the playoffs. Would effectively be a season ender for this team.

he played the shift right after and one right before the PP where Gustafsson took over.

I'm sure it started hurting when he sat for a bit. As stupid as it sounds, pain is better than no pain imo. typically not as severe

hope for the best. I'll take hyperextension/sprain/bruise

Zac Jones better take advantage of whatever opportunity this Fox injury gives him. He is going to step into an important role with good ice time, because with all his faults, he can at least move the puck well.

I love watching Tony D on the winner. He's made to look foolish by his BFF Trouba (lol) and then decides the appropriate course of action is to go stand next to the side of the net doing absolutely nothing.

My favorite Tony D moment was in the playoffs when Mika flung his stick out of his hands and Kreider scored while Tony was looking at the ref for a call. Definition of insanity for Carolina to have brought him back. He's Marc-Andre Bergeron with a TruthSocial account.

Ranger fans booing him every time he touches the puck is incredibly cringey though.

Who's up for powerbombing Aho through the table that John and Hank used in the post-game last night?

not many I know but maybe the third guy on that line just isn't in sync with them in the o zone?
The problem here is this: Kreider and Zibanejad enjoy playing from the rush. I don't think that style of play works well deep in the playoffs. You need to be able to create plays from the cycle as well. With a bit more luck, this line would have produced some goals from this type of play already.

We are on a 6 game winning streak. I know it's frustrating to watch the offense dry up, but I still maintain that this lineup (apart from the 4th line which is an issue) is the most optimal for us to win come spring time. They just need time to get it working, and because we are winning, I think it's best to continue this experiment. It would seem Laviolette agrees, because he hasn't changed the winning lineup.

If we apply a short term fix a la Vesey on the top line, it might open up Zib and Kreider points wise because they have a guy in their line that suits their rush game better. But if they are only scoring from the rush and Jimmy Vesey is our 1st line winger, we have a problem come playoff time. No disrespect to Vesey, but that's the way it is.

we will see.

some people just want to play in big markets.
Well, from what people have said from his interviews and talking to him, he doesn't have a luster for a specific market. Just for winning.

And yes, nothing is like New York and the Rangers. But Vancouver is not Columbus or Winnipeg. It is a big market for an NHL player.

Is 10 games really changing 5 years of dysfunction in Vancouver? Plus they already passed him over as captain for that mope Quinn Hughes. As you said, we'll see.

at Cuylle's age, Wilson was losing every fight and missing hits constantly.

he'll grow into it though I certainly don't think Cuylle has Wilson's sociopathy.
