not many I know but maybe the third guy on that line just isn't in sync with them in the o zone?
The problem here is this: Kreider and Zibanejad enjoy playing from the rush. I don't think that style of play works well deep in the playoffs. You need to be able to create plays from the cycle as well. With a bit more luck, this line would have produced some goals from this type of play already.
We are on a 6 game winning streak. I know it's frustrating to watch the offense dry up, but I still maintain that this lineup (apart from the 4th line which is an issue) is the most optimal for us to win come spring time. They just need time to get it working, and because we are winning, I think it's best to continue this experiment. It would seem Laviolette agrees, because he hasn't changed the winning lineup.
If we apply a short term fix a la Vesey on the top line, it might open up Zib and Kreider points wise because they have a guy in their line that suits their rush game better. But if they are only scoring from the rush and Jimmy Vesey is our 1st line winger, we have a problem come playoff time. No disrespect to Vesey, but that's the way it is.
we will see.
some people just want to play in big markets.
Well, from what people have said from his interviews and talking to him, he doesn't have a luster for a specific market. Just for winning.
And yes, nothing is like New York and the Rangers. But Vancouver is not Columbus or Winnipeg. It is a big market for an NHL player.
