JR said the opposite, not sure why Staios would report to PD.
You catch on... eventually. Remedial classes are available

wut haha. More context please. He may not last the weekend.
There were questions about how the organization chart would flow with McGuire in the picture, but Dorion made it clear he was ultimately in charge of all hockey decisions. “He'll be very present in everything that we do as far as hockey, but it was made very clear to me that he reports to me.

 “In hockey, you can never accumulate too much talent. Having Steve and Pierre leading our hockey department gives us a formidable team.” Is this just a nice thing to say or is Pierre out of hot water?

Ahhh I forgot you’re the facetious/ sarcastic poster.
I was serious about the classes lol

Called it last June when everyone thought Staios was replacing Dorion as GM:

This is great news. I've long argued we needed a POHO. Takes some of the annoying responsibilities and press conference stuff from Dorion, and allows him to focus on being the GM.
I thought this was Chaper 1 and the story continued.. is it over already?

Did any of the former Senators POHO have the “hammer” in the past?

Ottawa has never had a President of Hockey Operations. The highest level of authority has always been GM, who dealt directly with the owner (Muckler, Murray, Dorion).

This will be a new setup for the org.

We’ve only had “Presidents” who’s purview was the business side (Mlakar, Leeder, Leblanc).

Staios isn’t coming in to sell corporate packages or meet with the NCC. That’s Leeder. His only focus will be hockey.

Like Gorton in Montreal or Rutherford in Vancouver.

Dorion will continue doing a lot of the work, but Staios is now the decision maker. The buck stops with him for hockey matters. He’ll have a philosophy and vision of some kind, which clearly aligns with Andlauer’s at this point, and will direct Dorion to carry out that vision.

How well Dorion executes Staios’ vision will determine how long he’s in his role.
