For those who wish to hear how happy PD is about the move...
I expect to hear how this is a good move for the Ottawa Senators front office and I believe it is.

I'm sure Bruce and a few others will post quotes on Twitter as they happen. But yeah it would be nice to be able to listen to it live.

Early tidbits:

Mandate is to be be best-in-class.

We (Staios and Andlauer) share the same values. Wouldn't want to work for anyone else when you have that kind of support.

There's an incredible level of accountability.

Pierre and I have had great conversations already. The only thing that's changed for Pierre is that he has more support.

We have a lot to be excited about, but a lot of hard work to do.

I look forward to working on the day-to-day to take this team to another level.

The future is bright. Can't wait to get to work.

Going to dig in and evaluate every part of the hockey organization. Goal is to get better in all facets.

No existing relationship with Pierre, maybe met once before at a U18. But conversations so far have been great. Relationship will be collaborative. He'll do the day to day but I have a lot I went to get to. There's some work to do for sure.

Sean Tierney is a big step for the organization. But I need to find more areas of our organization that need support and build on it, so hopefully there's more of an immediate impact.

Got to know Sean over the years, he was a big part of helping us build championship teams in Hamilton. Analytics is a very strong tool and I'm glad we have it in our organization moving forward.

The contrast between Staios and Dorion, in how they speak, is so stark.

Dorion, "It's no secret in the past I've begged for help."

That was promising! Big changes to the hockey ops team, finally.

Steps to becoming a legitimately respected org

Yup. Staios seems like a great POHO. Someone to take the press and fan relation load off of Dorion, so Dorion can focus more on GMing.

It'll be interesting to see how it plays out. Neither Andlauer nor Staois have been all that "complimentary" in terms of where the team is right now. There hasn't been a lot of talk about, for example, being ready to win now. Most of it has been about the amount of work they need to do.

Maybe it's just setting expectations low.

But I remember when Melnyk and Muckler came in, it was "we're ready to win the Stanley Cup and that's our only focus". Andlauer and Staios are more "we have some level of foundation but there's a ton of work to do."

My hunch is we're going to see more change than people expect, both off and on the ice. Everyone from the "core" may not be here next year...

It's a fresh start for everyone. With the exception of a few guys (Tkachuk, Stutzle, Sanderson), I think Staios will be taking a look at everyone to determine whether they fit.

I like what he said about analytics and just making sure they're first class in every area.

At one point it seemed like we may never get to see that in Ottawa. What a 180 from the last guy.
