You have less of a chance to possess the puck if your positioning is bad, your IQ is bad, your are weak on yoir stick, etc. I get what you are saying but there are a thousand things that lead to “puck possession” in the first place.

I'm not sure what you're arguing here. He said to start the season possession was better. So if we treat that as a given our positioning was better, our IQ was better, and we were stronger on our sticks.

We’re not a great possession team, partially for the same reason our D looks terrible many nights, IMO.

Our forwards are lazy.

Most of our guys don’t really like doing “the hard parts” of the game. And that, IMO, is the biggest reason this group simply won’t win as configured. The total testosterone in the locker room is probably 30% lower than it needs to be for this exact same group to win it all. It’s not skill or ability that’s lacking.
Why is “less testosterone” a proxy for “lazy” in your post? Sexism is lazy. Work harder.

And before you say something like “don’t be so easily offended”—I’m not offended. I just don’t want you to make the rest of your argument, which has some merit, appear…flaccid.

Technically, it’s not really sexist… testosterone is the basis of virtually all anabolic steroids and synthetic testosterone is the most popular of all. Women also naturally produce it, just in far lower levels (men also have estrogen). It’s far less common, but even female figure competitors and bodybuilders, etc. are known to use low dosages of test, or test derivatives like Anavar. Same reason testosterone is given to men in the 30-60 age range routinely, to treat symptoms of “aging”. It’s a hormone that increases power, recovery time, protein synthesis and nutrient partitioning, vigor and its most notorious side effect is aggression.

Whether literal or figurative, it’s a perfectly fitting symptom to attribute to many of our guys.

The overwhelming scientific consensus is that low testosterone in men causes decreased motivation, strength, athletic performance, depression, etc. It's a legit medical issue that many men deal with. I'd say it's actually sexist to call that sexist, as you're the one suggesting men with low testosterone aren't "real men" but rather women instead.

So when you said lazy you meant our guys were struggling with “protein synthesis and nutrient partitioning”?

the problem with equating testosterone levels to laziness, is that it could easily imply that women are naturally lazier than men as they have less natural testosterone...
The bigger issue would probably be having your testosterone (and other hormone) levels below your body's baseline

Back on track; it's too early to tell what's going to happen with Fil immediately, but I can't imagine that Drury wants to move forward too much longer with such a question mark over the center position and our appalling lack of depth there.
Targeting someone in the same age bracket as Chytil won't be cheap, but we do have a few nice wingers that could be offered, as well as D-men depending on how badly Drury wants to re-jig the back-end

LokiDog wasn’t talking about a deficiency syndrome or something (which only affects about 2% of people assigned male at birth and, hence, not a whole team of people). He was talking about testosterone like parmesan cheese you might sprinkle to your liking on pasta. And equating it with effort. But anyway, I don’t want the previously vigorous discussion to go floppier than it already has, so I’ll drop it.

You will never be a real woman Ed, as hard as you try.

If Fil is out for a while with a concussion, maybe it’s time to go to the Ducks for some one-stop shopping.

Lindgren, Othmann, and a 1st for Zegras and Fowler (50% retained).

The salaries roughly match up evenly assuming Fil goes on LTIR.

I know you could get some back in other trades. but that would leave us with Minnesota's 5th round pick being our first pick in the upcoming draft, and only 2 picks in the first 3 rounds for each of the two drafts after that...
