Reid-Foley is pitching. Terrible outing so far. 6 hits, 2 walks 6 runs 4 ER. Hasn't made it out of the 2nd inning yet.

He's not progressing very well. I'm losing some hope that he's worth being excited about.

He's 21 and in AA lots of time for him to improve. He's pitched much better after the second inning.

I assume he is done now because he is just under 100 pitches. Since 2nd inning he gave up 2 hits both singles and one walk in four innings of work. Terrible first two innings but recovered after that.

ol' Smoaky is a 3 fWAR player now, with a wRC+ over 150.

And since he's a Jay, he'll always be accused of using PEDs to fuel his success.

Stanton hit a bomb off Grilli and then taunted him. Remember this post when the Rangers fire one at his ribs in the future.

Beltre also got ejected for moving the on-deck circle. Lol.

Does Oakland ever want to win ?? Why do they want to get rid of Gray. Seems like a very good pitcher. Young. Controllable. The A's are like a farm team for the rest of MLB.

According to the New York Times, the Mets are receiving little trade interest in Jay Bruce despite his power numbers.

https://www.nytimes.com/2017/07/26/...t-in-jay-bruce-despite-his-power-numbers.html

SAN DIEGO - Over the winter, the Mets faced an outfield surplus and dangled Jay Bruce as a trade chip. But after not receiving offers they deemed worthy for an outfielder who hit 33 home runs in 2016, the Mets kept him.

As the Mets' 2017 season of high expectations has fizzled, Bruce, who is 30 and will be a free agent at the end of the year, has once again been put on the block. And as the team's most consistent power hitter this season - entering Wednesday he had 25 homers and 67 runs batted in - it seemed only logical that some clubs in contention for a postseason spot would at least talk to the Mets about acquiring him.

But with less than a week to go before Monday's non-waiver trading deadline, the Mets are running into the same problem with Bruce that they did over the winter.

There simply does not appear to be much of a market for outfielders, even for ones with a lot of power. But the demand for top relievers appears to be robust, and so it is not surprising that Addison Reed, who has had a solid season as the Mets' closer, is drawing a lot of interest from other teams.

And he said he was willing to talk about the eight teams on the partial no-trade list in his contract.

They are the Yankees, the Arizona Diamondbacks, the Miami Marlins, the Minnesota Twins, the Oakland Athletics, the Philadelphia Phillies, the Tampa Bay Rays, and the Toronto Blue Jays. Some of those teams are in contention, some are not.

That Stanton taunt/imitation of Grilli was hilarious.

That Beltre ejection was ridiculous. MLB wants to cater to new/young fans, yet someone having meaningless fun is thrown out by a power tripped ump.

Nats just went back to back to back to back. 4 homeruns in a row. 8th time in MLB history that's happened.
