I've been yelling the following at the TV loudly since the middle of last season, amplified to a crescendo during last years playoffs- capped off tonight when the top of my head blew off:

Michael Grabner is an annoying mofo'.

He easily has had more open breakaways and close sweet shots on goal than any other Ranger and he misses every freaking time! Every time.

Oh, and please fire AV. He sucks. (I hope that doesn't detract from the veracity of my Grabner statement).

And someone please teach Rangers shooters how to lift the puck up close, could ya' please? Sheesh. Bad enough we have no snipers except Zibanejad.

As an objective fan who was at the game tonight, I thought you were the better team, tbh. Just one of those nights...

Yes, we created a lot of chances, but we miss some pieces who are good at finish plays, but we need some puck luck too - especially against hot goalies. :)

Skjei needs to not have a godawful turnover.

Hank needs to not let his back be exposed so deflections like that can happen.

Someone needs to win a friggin' faceoff in an empty net situation.

Someone other than Zibanejad needs to score our goals.

Holden-Kampfer can go back to the pressbox where it belongs.

Wasn't a terrible game though...

He was leaning way forward. Made it easy for a deflection like that to happen. Gotta hug the post.
That's a broken play, unfortunate bounce type thing. If that exact play happened 100 times, and Hank played it the same way MAYBE 2 times it would go in. Maybe.

That's just bad luck. Sometimes you don't get the luck.

Hank was good tonight, he had multiple breakaways and high quality chances.

Never said he was bad. In fact, I did say he was good tonight.

But I think a deflection like that goes in more often than you think.

5 v 5 is not good with too many new players and the league expansion did not help us I admit that - we lost Oscar Lindberg who was a force in playoffs for instant and Fast out with injury. But if u look at Real Madrid & Barcelona and consistency - they don`t move key players who are consider part of the core in the club like Messi & Ronaldo and there are others for sure in the same two clubs. And when I look at Blackhawks they have similar core and concept - they are doing very well with a good start of this season and a good pre season planing it seems.

I know you can`t compare soccer to ice hockey based on salary and cap limits, but it`s an example that some NHL franchise try to use - if u change less players more likely you will get more consitency, and that is logic, because the players know each other from previous seasons.

Meanwhile AV seems to struggle, and this is not only on AV our coach, but maybe we`ve too many new players each season so hard to figure out chemistry from 1st to our 4th line. And it does not help on consistency to rotate lines. And all players and talent compete to get a roster spot in NHL - so hard to use NHL lines in the beginning of a pre season.
Are you considering Lindberg to Messi and Ronaldo?????

Any those teams deal with a ton of turnover. especially the black hawks.

AV does this every year. He wastes the Preseason and camp with stupid pairings and giving scrubs a shot.
So we got into the year and dont have chemistry or consistency until November

Good thing that Nash start to play physical again - and use his size, that`s a good omen. :)

No, not at all, but Oscar played well on our 4th line last season back from injury, @Capt McDonut but they decided to move Stepan - and he was part of the core for sure even though he is a slow starter & slow in general.

We were the better team while trailing in the 3rd. That's usually the case for the trailing team.

The push was probably good enough to warrant a point, but we need to score there.

We are a bad hockey team.

1 line hockey team with 1 defenseman who can defend and bad goaltending. I doubt this team makes the playoffs, and the offense is looking even worse than I thought. We could be one of the worst teams in the league this season.

This is a year to tank though. There's a generational player in the upcoming draft.

Only 5 forwards have scored more than 1 point so far. We're gonna need more from Nash, Hayes, Vesey and Grabner. If not, we won't even compete for a playoff spot. We look like a one line offense with two other forwards who the coach keeps moving around because they can't find anyone else to score.

We've been in much bigger holes than 1-3.

Be scared and worried that AV loves Kampfer and Skjei sucks if anything. But other than that...

Skjei doesn't suck, he's a top 4D and will be one for a long time but it looks like he's heading for a bad second season, which the team can not afford if we are going to make the playoffs.

And that our forward corps might be mediocre.

Nash's game seems to be falling off a cliff, Grabner was due for a season where he didn't score after last season, Hayes will
put up 45-55 points but do it in a way where he alienates everyone and the rest of his play is questioned, Vesey may not be a top 12 forward. Yeah, our offense is looking bad. I didn't think it would fall apart so quickly but we didn't sure up the offense in the offseason. We made it worse by getting rid of Stepan.

Why because he made a bad pass?

Skjei will be fine. I'm more worried about the leash Staal is going to get on the top pair.

Before the season started, someone here explained to me how improved the Rangers youth is. I would call it easily below the league average. One decent line and Skjel is all I see.

Take a look around the league. There are young budding players everywhere on almost every team.

We don't agree often but I'm starting to think this and I was optimistic going into the season. I got fooled by the draft and young players we acquired

He's looked mediocre to start the season. We need him to be our second best defenseman defensively, he's been slightly better than the guys sitting in the press box. I think it's too much to put on his plate, but that's what we did with the roster construction.

It could be worse - Zib could be cold and off. Let`s hope he stays hot - until AV figure out line chemistry with our 3 remaining NHL lines.
Any eta on J. Fast injury?
