Look, I get being annoyed. I'm annoyed.

Nobody is more bothered by losing then I am and nobody hates this coach more than I do. Anybody on here who knows me knows that's the truth on both accounts.

But look, we've got our captain back, we've got our powerplay working, and it looks like we've found a bonafide NHL first line.

We've got 78 games left and you can't fault me for thinking the roster has potential. There's work to do, but we've been in that spot before.

No doubts that S. Kampfer cost us points at MSG tonight - it was an easy clear on pk, but he hit a Blue player and they scored behind our net.

The team über over achieved early last season.

The are mildly underachieving early this season.

The Blues are 4-0 [For any of you youngins taking the SAT this year: St. Louis Blues are to regular season and playoffs as Rick Nash*** is to regular season and playoffs]

This is also year 2 of the transition.

***may no longer apply|refer to previous seasons

I mean teams don't generally improve when they trade their 1C for futures.

Hayes has been a complete disappointment. Miller has been spotty. Zib has been great, obviously especially on the PP. But ultimately they have 1.5 lines clicking right now and a brutal 4th line.

Tough to win with that especially when you are still trotting out Holden-Kampfer for some reason.

We are a bad hockey team.

1 line hockey team with 1 defenseman who can defend and bad goaltending. I doubt this team makes the playoffs, and the offense is looking even worse than I thought. We could be one of the worst teams in the league this season.

This is a year to tank though. There's a generational player in the upcoming draft.

PB I luv ya bud I really do and you and I are on same page most of time but on this post of yours "overreact much"....ya think? Jesus H Christ. It's been only 4 games from my recollection as I don't recall the boys playing more games than that.

If this was Thanksgiving time period and we were 5-6 games under .500 yeah maybe I'd be worried. But at this point of season seriously you and some others in here need to get a grip. Like you I'm not thrilled at how things have gone...not at all. But to say we are likely done and not going to make the playoffs and even worse, we as you say "could be one of the worst teams in the league"? Really? After 4 f***ing games you can make that inference?

I agree with you that currently we are lacking chemistry with our lines other than one of them. Currently our back end is not playing as anticipated....no doubt. AV is making alot of us including me scratch our heads at what the hell is he thinking. Our goaltending at this point has been spotty tho it looks like Hank is starting to find his game somewhat. But to say unequivocally that this team is pretty much headed for a lottery pick and is in tank mode is no offense a pretty ignorant statement.

I fully realize that there are going to be brothers of mine here in Ranger Nation, some of the best and most knowledgable and passionate fans in the world who are going to show their frustration at times when we lose games that seem to be very winnable. And I can at times even agree with this frustration. But to say that the team is done...finished after 4 f***ing games is a totally ridiculous comment and it will make those who state this look foolish and silly when all is said and done.

As I said PB, I luv and respect you but your comment that that the boys are done reminds me of the same peeps in here just last year for example who were 1000% convinced and that there was no doubt in their minds that we were going to get swept by the Canadians in the first round of the playoffs and that Price was going to dominate Hanky and we our demise was set in stone and our window was closed. Well we all see how that worked out and those Debbie Downers and Negative Nancy's ate alot of crow.

Bottom line my friend is this team has way way too much talent to not make the playoffs and in fact make a pretty nice run once we get there. We are just off to a spotty and uneven start to the season and it will fix itself soon...I have complete confidence of this. This is not just me living in "polyannaland". This is me speaking from experience of 45 years of watching this team and hockey in general. Trust me when I say this PB, in a week or so, after we start a 3-4 game winning streak, you'll either be quiet and not say anything or you'll have balls and admit that you were wrong.

Knowing the kind of passione guy you are, I'm betting you'll be admitting that you were wrong about this team of ours....:)

Just getting in my post early for this year's version of the "this is a bad team" thread.

Let's hope they turn this around. I don't count them out yet, I think this is more of a transition year though, hopefully I'm wrong about that.

Well said MH. I know this is going to make you feel all "warm and fuzzy" and you'll sleep even better than you thought you would but you and I are 1000% on the same page......:)

Way way way way way way way too early to panic. Not sure I mentioned how it's way too early too panic and worry but it is....lol

PB last I checked this team of ours has made the dance 11 of last 12 years. It would be more likely that the 0-5 NY football Giants win 10 of their last 11 games with no WR's make the playoff than us not get in....lol

Your premature "this is a bad team" comment will almost assuredly not be used again after next week...hah

You guys always make me feel warm and fuzzy :thumbu:

If you ever want a good example of the phrase “it’s easy to lose a hockey game but very hard to win one”, look no further than this game. Crappy positioning makes us give up a goal after 15 sec or whatever. After that STL knows that they have a very good shot at walking away with 2 pts it they keep things thight and manage to pot in one more during the coming 59:45. On a night like this, it took 15 sec to lose the game.

But yeah...if Nash, Zuuc, Kreids, or Buch goes down for any length of time...we're in deep doodoo. When fast is healthy, he can move up and cover for a bit, but you'd hope for a better option.

Don't tell that to the Stats guys. Vesey throws lots of pucks towards the net, therefore law of averages deems he will ultimately be successful. ;)

The problem with Jimmy Vesey is that he was treated as if he was Mario Lemieux. The whole recruiting process where even Susan Sarandon and Liam Neeson were involved had fans believe Vesey was going to be our savior.

relax. we suck right now kinda but not all is lost. no panic yet. please ya'll gotta remember we suck at home.

we outplayed them for stretches. thats a solid team. tarasenko did no damage so thats good. did we really draft mcilrath over him ? i mean seriously ? anyhoo.....

whatever a carterhutton is he was just slightly better than the henrik. they played a perfect shutdown road game and we still have trouble scoring unless the swedish iranian dude is on the ice.

AV gonna AV. defensively, last night wasnt the right combo but over all, the team defense was solid for long stretches. i still say we need a vet finisher/goal scorer/shooter type like a camalleri. we have too many fancy passers.

unless others start scoring, and hank stands on his head, we need to win games 3-2 for a while and let the pp win games for us. 5v5, we arent very dangerous. theres potential but until 20, 61, 10 and 89 start scoring, gonna be tough.

61 with another "great game" of "trying hard"and "getting closer" and "doing all the small things". yay.

4 games ZERO points. -3 for 7.8 million fishnagles.

I think this is more of a transition year though, hopefully I'm wrong about that.

This is a transition year, and IMO nothing unfortunate about that.

One thing that it would be helpful if more could realize around this team is that by making transitions you are very likely to face adversity -- but it does not necessarily manifest itself at the most obvious places. Everything is connected. Like we all love Brady Skjei, and can all live with a mistake from him here and there. But this season we want him to take a bigger responsibility defensively, and he has struggled a bit early assuming that role. For the entire team, the goals against that has cost us has been one of many factors rocking the boat so to speak. When the boat is rocking, pressure is higher, maybe a vet like Hank is exposed a bit more than usual, the coach is forced to try to get things to calm down which might entail cutting down on a rooks ice time and so forth and so forth and so forth.

You often hear some people saying stuff like "I could live with a rebuild", against the background of those people thinking they could coupe with young rookies making a few mistakes here and there. But facts are that when you make a transition it affects everyone. From a vet like Hank who might look very solid so far if he would have started out with a few Skapski against Buffalo games instead of the Chaos in Toronto debacle...

Like I said before this season, when following this team this year we got to be prepared to take a punch or two. There will be adversity.
