If I were a betting man, I'd put money on "we dominated every metric, but got goalie'd"
Day did play pretty good again but when you constantly complain half the team’s in the league are out goalie-ing you……maybe it’s time to think your boys just can’t finish. Y’know? I watched the ‘Birds have a group that blew half their Grade A chances for the better part of year before. I thought “Oh shhhhhhhiiiii….How did he not bury that?” more than a few times tonight. I also didn’t think Miller bad tonight either. I’m not quite as pessimistic on the Greyhound’s chances this year as you or DWI but it’s nice to come visit over here and get rationality too.

Highly unlikely BMB would return as an OA.
Being an Nhl draft pick , most expected place will be A.H.L.
Would Saginaw accept :
bryce McConnel Barker
Brodie McConnel Barker
Caiden Carlisle
for :
Calem Mangone
zane parekh

I don't think we would want Mangone at this stage. He is scoring at a point per game clip, so is more useful to Saginaw than to us if we were to decide to sell Bryce.

Parekh is way too important for their back end to even consider moving him at this point. Saginaw needs to improve their D in my opinion, not take away from the group. The only deal I think that would make sense is Aiden Young and picks but I think I would look elsewhere if they were going to deal BMB.

Very disappointed in BMBaker - he SHOULD be dominating in our games. Maybe the family is disappointed that his brother has NOT played a game this year. Solution - trade both at this stage of their careers and get a very good return.
Connor Toms is another disappointment and I would have preferred Caleb Van de Ven or just play and develop Evans and Solomon.

You ever have someone give up on you when you're having a tough go?

This isn't the NHL, noone is paying him millions of dollars to play so relax.. he's a KID still. We have NO idea what's going on in their personal lives and to assume they should shut their life off so you can watch hockey is INSANE. Stand by your captain when times are tough. He's not the only "star" who's starting off slow this year.

We need to make moves.. it's obvious that they are trying to keep value or raise value on specific players as they continue to get ice time.

SSM is not trading with Sag this year.

If Barker gets moved this year it's part of a complete sell off...which I don't believe will happen at all.

If Bryce continues to struggle, is anyone else wondering if the door might be left open for him to return for an OA year?

Yes, but I think he returns even if he finds himself and stops struggling personally. I know Othmann made the jump to AHL but.. he's also a 1st round pick.

I want Gavin Hayes... Gavin Hayes is struggling in Flint and I think he just doesn't have the skill around him to succeed. He's a goal scorer.

Sirizzotti dropped to the fourth line last night. Hayes playing 2nd line winger.

Looking at this roster, to contend we need two more T-6 forwards, a T-4 defenseman, and a goalie (debatable whether it's a starter or backup we need). And that assumes that Bryce finds his game.

Change my mind.

It's happened twice to the same goalie, who may be the best in the league. I haven't seen that type of comment for any of the other 10 games this year.

What kind of player are you thinking for defense? You could easily argue that we have the best defense in the league, although London also has a very strong case. I think forward and perhaps goaltending (I'm not ready to make that call yet) are much bigger priorities.

I said T-4 defense, but really meant T-5. Right now if we have an injury in our T-2 defense, Gibson is quite capable of stepping up and filling that slot. But the same cannot be said for our second pair. We need a 5th defenseman capable of sliding into the second pair in the event of an injury. We do not have that currently. IMO.

Sirizzotti, Toms, Fantino and D'Intino all had poor nights last night judging by their +/- but I admittedly was unable to watch last night.

This tragedy in the Soo has hit my household quite hard as one of the victims was a friend of my daughter. I know it's not hockey related, but worth mentioning just how much this tragedy has rocked our community, especially the students at Boreal and Superior Heights.

Yes it's horrible

I said it before and will say it again. 1 goalie, 1 defensively intelligent dman, and another top 6 F away from being unstoppable. ( MAYBE a depth forward for cheap or free lol )

@HockeyPops i agree

Also agree but I think he means someone much more defensively sound that doesn't jump into the play as much, which I do agree with.

Maybe Raftis could address all the needs in one deal..

- Virgilio with a huge gaff on the first goal
- Hayes manhandled entering the offensive zone, resulting in odd man rush on goal 2
- Third goal poor coverage on defensive zone faceoff. I don't even know whose man it was left open in the slot. Gibson?
- Fourth goal Kostov not aware at all of the threat weak side

When you have huge breakdowns like we did last night, plus/minus often doesn't place the appropriate blame.

Maybe Raftis could address all the needs in one deal..
We would need to do a heck of a job to be able to afford all those pieces.

*frantically scanning niagara's roster*
