Mom delivers OHL draft news to Cambridge Hawk with a loud shout out across rink
Hockey referees are used to boos and verbal abuse from parents in the stands.

I wouldn’t be surprised to see Miller take ivanovs spot this year.Well, I don't pretend to know enough about this 2007 born draft class to know whether or not we had a good draft. Hoping we did, but I will reserve judgement on that for a couple years.
However, I do know that this draft class is going to be have lots of opportunity to make this team. Not this fall though, as there are not many spots available as we already have 24 players signed going into the season. I can see two 2007 born players earning spots on this year's roster (likely Martin and Hayes). Here are the 24 players we have signed so far going into next year:
D'Intino (03)
Sirizzotti (03)
Ivanov (03)
McConnell-Barker (04)
Allard (04)
Fantino (04)
Kudryavtsev (04)
Carlisle (04)
Toms (04)
Van De Ven (04)
Schenkel (04)
Clattenburg (05)
Montroy (05)
Moses (05)
Cloutier (05)
Mignosa (05)
Good (05)
Gibson (05)
Brown (06)
Vader (06)
Kostov (06)
McConnell-Barker (06)
Evans (06)
Virgilio (06)
Miller (06)
So if we sign Martin and Hayes, plus a second Import, that brings us up to 27 players. Now, there is definitely an argument to make that one or more of our 03s does not return for an OA year, but I fully expect those 3 OA spots to filled with a competitive team this year, so feel free to replace any of those 03 names with your preferred choice from around the league.
At some point during the season (trade deadline?) we need to get down to 25 rostered players. There are probably going to be a couple of bodies going out leading up to that, either being waived or traded to get down to that number.
The big opportunity for this 07 draft class is going to present itself a year from now in August of 2024 when we have a much larger graduating class of around 8 players. We will likely see 3-4 of those spots taken with players drafted from the 08 class, but that still leaves 4-5 spots for the 07 players drafted in rounds 4+. Hopefully Raftis has selected some OHLers in the mid to late rounds this draft that will take good steps over the next year.
Tye Kartye called up to Seattle. Twitter says he was skating with Eberle and Beniers in morning skate
Nice story.Look at Tye Kartye scoring his first NHL goal in the playoffs! A one timer from the slot of course. His parents are repping Greyhounds gear in the crowd too.
Was I the only one who was thinking of a wrestler from the 1980s after reading the name of your first pick? (Surname not quite the same, slightly different spelling).3 players selected in the U18 draft

Noah Tegelaar - G - Guelph Gryphons U18 - 1.70 GAA in 22 games including 4 SOs

Imagine the games against Barrie, who just drafted his younger brother Teague in the 5th round.
I love the news release this far in advance of the development weekend. That's a welcome change from that lack of information we normally get surrounding this weekend!
