Wide sweeping changes are not realistic... Seems like a third of the roster would be most significant.
XX - Thompson - Tuch
Peterka - Kullich - YY
Benson - McLeod - Quinn
Beck (I guess) - Kozak/Krebs - Lafferty/NAK
Dahlin - ZZ
Power/Byram - ZZ
Sammy - Clifton
RyJo/Gilbert
UPL
GG
XX and YY - get guys who can legit play a top 6 role (with proven experience)
Could move one of Peterka or Quinn and get rid of some line-up redundancy
ZZ two RDs that profile as defensive D-men (ideally strong at protecting entries/blue line).
You have, in this model, Cozens (who is garnering attention), Byram or Power, potentially Peterka or Quinn + draft and prospect assets and additional cap space that will come with offloading Zucker, Greenway, and Joker at the deadline (potentially Krebs, Lafferty or NAK too - Beck is not going anywhere because no one is giving a 2nd for him and the ridicule will not be worth it lol). Plenty of $s and trade capital to fill 4 to 6 spots with experienced nhlers
I am still not sure that is a winning roster (good coach and you might make the playoffs). And that has 4, maybe 5 additions who would be looking at significant minutes. And still has young dudes playing big roles. Good grief!!!
Then again, Vegas made it to the cup in their first season with William Karlsson as their leading scorer. I am optimistic again. Just need Pegula to find a good hockey man with a wrestling background.
