On one hand I'm glad we didn't wildly overpay. On the other, there's literally noone left on the market for that role now unless we can pry Goretzka put of Bayern, which seems unlikely.

Spend 400M on hopeful 18-21 yesar Olds but refuse to spend the 90M it would have taken for the player we actually needed, who is the same age and already established in that role. What a disappointing window.

Watching Burnley this year will be interesting. Everyone's raving about Kompany right now, but dominating the Championship and defending against top teams in the Premier League are two different things. This is the same team that got thrashed 6-0 by Man City in the FA Cup last year.

Their transfer announcement videos this summer are top tier though.

Serie A team lost a CL final to a goal from a holding mid from an EPL team.

Serie A Players missed 3 clear sitters to lose that final. So I'm not sure this is a great story to tell....
