Other Sports: Soccer/Football Thread Part Six

Favorite team to watch outside of Arsenal and City. Imagine this kinda stuff in hockey.

Would love to snatch Evan Ferguson next summer. But the way Brighton do business they'll probably want 100+ million for him.

So ummmm. I am highly likely coming over to NYC in August, 19th-26th.

Thought about going to the Inter Miami game on the 26th, was curious about prices re: Messi. Cheapest stuff at $415. Had a look at the previous game, DC United on the 20th. Cheapest ticket $19         Man oh man

To play red bulls or nyc man city? Red Bull’s play in small stadium so supply will drive up the price. NYC plays in yankee stadium, so obviously a larger supply of tics. Knowing ny though, wouldn’t be surprised if it was yankee stadium and they are jacking prices

Edit: looked it up. Is against Red Bull’s. Only holds 25k. So that makes sense

Red bull or not, it's still insane gouging. There's 42K seating in Atlanta and those tickets are 151-300 for the upper bowl. I had a friend who sat there for thr Chelsea game. The players are dots. You literally can't make out jersey numbers.

Yeah but you have to take in the corporate expense factor. If a client asks you for tickets ... you go in the secondary market and get them. The hub of the south lost the civil war for a reason. I get what you are saying but people are going to splurge on those tixs

I'll never understand why the women love to shoot High. You watch a men's PK and it 95% hard and corner. 4 balls skied in 11 shots is atrocious.

The women may not be able to hit it as hard, and maybe that plays into the decision to ahoot for placement, (thoughts @Appleyard ) but a GK reaction is beatable still for women. I dont think anyone realizes how little time you have as a keeper in that situation until you actually try to block one.

Also: Congrats to Chelsea women's keeper Musovic and former Captain Eriksson on advancing!

Just hit it hard down the middle. The goalie’s going to move.

Because this is the same level of skill and athleticism as the 70s Flyers.

Just hit it hard down the middle. The goalie’s going to move.

The only trouble there is if the keeper goes horizontal and drags feet, they sometimes, on a bad reaction/technique, get left in the center. Or grow a set if balls like Naeher and just for the panenka.

If a goalie guesses right you're likely not scoring unless it's in that spot, as even at the highest level, most keepers can't get to the far corner in time.
