Yesterday I learned that VAR is not used on the early rounds of FA cup. Maguire was two feet offside on the late winner

Isn't it because lots of lower league teams are involved in the early rounds thus they take the ''if a team doesn't have option to install VAR, then no games have it''?

Also, did someone watch ManCity-RM last night? I went to sleep at ~15min mark and up till that point it seemed like RM could had been 2:0/3:0 up, but it ended only 2:3 w expected goals 1.5-2.5ish? Did the game turn around that much?

Correct. The technology to fully implement VAR across lower leagues stadiums to facilitate the use of VAR is more costly than the English FA cares to spend in the interest of getting games called correctly ( though in fairness, with Var they seemingly get it even more wrong).

That said, there were two egregious misses that would have been (ideally) called correctly if VAR was in place in this round thay I watched alone in two games.

At this point they just need to scrap it and call it a day. Go to automated offside and call it a day.

It felt like the FA Cup weekend was propaganda for VAR. So many bad decisions, but i take this as a damning review of the quality of refereeing and linesmen as a result of VAR. They don't need to make key decisions any more, so they've become sloppy.

Milan and Celtic

Stop screwing around and win please.

Edit: are you shitting me? Literally the exact second I hit “post” they got scored on…

Can't lie, I find Championship football more enjoyable these days than the Premier League. Games are more entertaining (unless you're watching Burnley) and refs just let the players play and don't make it about themselves.
