Ullmark is not worth 5 mill a year.He is getting a starters wage with never being an actuall clear number 1 goalie on a team. In Buffalo he tagged team with Hutton. Swayman is nearly ready and one reason why Rask is back is because the Bruins can see Ullmark is not the "guy"--Swayman has shown he will be the "guy".
Bruins have Ullmark for 3 seasons after this one and I can see either bought out or traded with some sugar

I think Ullmark would be a great option for Edmonton but maybe more at the draft. I don't see the need for Boston to deal a goalie right now since they are in a playoff spot and you want to be cautious with all these injuries and Covid in general.

Yes that trade for Keith at full cap hit doesn't look too good. They are missing Larsson but Koskinen is also part of the problem.

Koskinen contract is comming to an end.

After that, Edmonton is binded to a Mike Smith that is very brittle for another year.

A rookie that can't win games despite being almost exclusively played against bottom tier teams (one win to wpg being the exception)

An unknown Russian rookie and another keeper with a heart condition that is trying a comeback at the ahl level.

There a public battle between him (kosk) and the coach. At this point, they can't lose him to wavers because there will be no one left in net. Koskinen also have a 15 team no trade so it make him extremely difficult to move.

He will sign with another team in the off season. Then edm will have nothing to show for in net.

You have a very negative way of looking at things. It is a really big stretch to view Koskinen's expiring contract as a negative.

Smith's contract does go for one more year, but it is a low cost contract and that should be it for his career in the NHL. So the Oilers aren't tied down to mediocre goaltending for any real length of time.

Your spin on Skinner is really something. He is a rookie goaltender, but his numbers in the AHL are really, really good. So he is developing properly. No one is worried about Skinner in Edmonton.

So you think the Oilers will have no one to play in net next season? Is this the gist of your post? Kind of.. well, silly to say that, don't you think?

Koskinen expiring contract is a great thing both for Koskinen and the Oilers.

He not welcome in Edmonton and the sooner they part way the better for both parties.

Time will tell on Skinner but so far he nothing special and if you list the team he played against in the nhl, his record is avrage while being given opponents that are should win for Edmonton. (Outside 1 jets game where he was good)

Maybe he belong in the nhl but I don't envision him being a starter. Hopefully he proves me wrong

Georgiev is a hot and cold goalie that is just as inconsistent as the three guys they've got signed.

Zero need for the Oilers to spend assets to play musical chairs for a guy who only moderately improves the position.

They're also getting caved in at even strength this year. So improving the goalie really isn't turning that tide.

yes he is hot and cold, but that ignores we cracked the code and figured out his track record.
He needs regular starter mins to stay sharp
Maybe looking over his shoulder at a guy who is clearly better is a psyche, maybe not, maybe it's just the work.
But he's not going to any of the 5 guys in the league who give Shesty a run for his Vezina run. Including not to Oil

Once you put Koskinen behind Fox-and-co and Georgie behind Ceci-Keith-Nurse, I am not so sure.
Depends if he is sharp enuf from regular starter work or not.
Eye test says he has and can stonewall potent offenses.
Also, Rangers play a balanced game. Conversely Oilers, two or so bottom 6 shots in the arm, coupled with how McD/Drai drive top 6, and there would be less of the puck in the defensive zone to begin with. Like old Bruins of the 70s.

Oh man Skinner was awful tonight, Oilers deserved a better fate than that, brutal.
Ive mentioned several times to Oil fans to get a goalie but they refuse everytime. Why they won't improve netminding is one strangest things I have seen in hockey. Odd!

They shooting themselves in foot. At some point McDavid and Leon will want to win.

We paid big prices for shot at Cup. Price contract, Gallaghers, Petrys, Subban trade, some were not best deals but we acquired players who never would have signed here. Who will fetch us good return. Toffoli, Eddie etc,

Koskinen being claimed off waivers? No chance. He’d sail right thru waivers easily. No one adding a $4mm AAV AHL level G. Dallas already sent a better goalie unclaimed thru waivers.

A deal involving Swayman and Debrusk probably makes sense. Boston probably values Swayman pretty highly, and it sounds like Holland won't trade his first.
