We’re like 12 minutes into the off season as well as before the draft and free agency. Trying to decipher the what’s and why’s of this particular trade would seem to be pretty futile.

We don’t have any idea what it costs to get one team to take cap space compared to the other and the values people assign to players with trades are typically off beyond quantification.

This is what it cost today to send Walman to SJ without taking money back, which suggests Detroit is doing something with that money.

It’s early for the yearly Yzerman attacks.

Wings fans massively overrated Walman.

But this is still a hilarious trade. His value wasn’t that bad.

While I am in agreement that the fanbase does overrate him a bit, he's still a decent top-4 guy to the least. On the Wings he was one of their best guys behind the blueline and being paired with Seider, he was given the tough assignments.
