Like I said, "he isn't very bright".Sure talk about it behind closed doors. Poulin listed 4 possible reasons for Keefe coming out and explaining himself. All 4 were bad according to him. So why did he feel the need to explain himself?? It makes him look weak the same way he looked after losing to the Rangers last year and calling them soft and later taking it back.
I thought you were joking around but he actually is LMAO
What a gig Marner has, runs the Leafs by day and streams at night
That was just sad.
I haven't care for Keefe as a coach, but Dubas should put the guy out of his misery before it gets any more humiliating for him.
"I used the wrong words" ......why not just say "Sorry Auston & Mitch, I didn't mean it"
wonder if he'll have to make the Babcockian pilgrimage to arizona in the offseason to wash AM's feet
Fastest coach to win 100
Some of you need to shut your trap
Lou has his faults as a GM, but his biggest strength is not tolerating any bull**** and the culture of putting the team first. If the top guns tune this guy out just like babcock, keefe is finished
And being in the HHOF.Too bad his fault is team construction and contracts
And being in the HHOF.
It diminished him.keefer really apologetic today... wow this is sad.
maybe this is new age coaching and stuff idk
It diminished him.
That was overblown. There were ways to get around his contract issues.Too bad his fault is team construction and contracts
Or he is just too soft and afraid the players will tune him out.Like I said, "he isn't very bright".
AM or any players will stay if the Leafs is winning.I'd move MM but it would take at least 3 lottery protected picks/prospects. If you move Mitch, you have to be prepared to move Matty as well in which case, you are starting another rebuild. Perhaps the next President can learn from Shanny and Kyle's mistakes and get it right on attempt #2.
To me, the coach can criticize the players after a bad game.I doubt this isn't anything more than just a little misunderstanding.
Should never had gone public though.
AM or any players will stay if the Leafs is winning.
Just look at the Tkachuk trade. Imagine getting Hubie, Weegar, a 1st and more for MM, since MM is a better player than Tkachuk.
I just watched the clip, not seeing what all the drama is.
To me, the coach can criticize the players after a bad game.
The coach further explaining what he said a day or two later is pretty much a public apology to the players for criticizing them in the first place. You do that in private, fine but not in public.
It shows to the players that, they don’t need to listen to the coach.
The thing is Flames was in a horrible position and still managed to net Hubie and Weegar and more. I don’t think Leafs could get less than the Tkachuk deal if they trade MM. MM is a better player, better stats and still have a few more years in his contract.MM is the more skilled but Florida overpaid for Tkachuk. Might have to do with last year's loss to Tampa and wanting to move on from Hubbie and Weager. It might be hard to find a taker for Mitch for the price but if you can find one, take him for all he's got.
That doesnt make senseThat's because you're likely not starting with a conclusion and working backwards from it.
But his comments appeared very up front and clear - it doesnt make sense to have to set any record straight..From listening to multiple media members, it sounds like this is a huge misunderstanding. It sounds like the players didn’t even care.
Either Keefe got in his own head and thought he messed up so he wanted to get ahead of it before the players heard or someone from upper management asked him to walk it back.
I don’t buy for a second that the players approached Keefe about this at all. It was either management or Keefe himself that decided there was a need to circle back.
