I don’t think they’ll tune him out to the point that they miss the playoffs, but I think this is his last year here. Coaches usually become stale by year four.

Coach is a stooge. Hitchcock or Torts would have told these guys to f*** off basically.

He and Dubas are done.

Group of us called this right at the time that they were brought on. It was predictable. Just like it's predictable that yet another incompetent move by Dubas would cause this stress. Lets face it, .884% SV for our tender tandem isn't going to work. You can't work the tenders over at the start of the season either. It's literally a must win it all season for the Leafs.

Dubas was handed one of the best hands ever to an NHL GM and he has blown it beyond belief. It's unreal and most importantly likely over.

This is bad, all Keefe really said was that they needed to be better, and now he's walking his comments back. Also weird that Mitch insinuates that Keefe basically needed to 'explain himself' which is some bullshit.

It sounds like Keefe's harder approach since camp wasn't sitting well with the team and he's trying to not lose the room here. Disappointing that these guys are still so f***ing soft and entitled.

He lost the room. He has no tending either. It's pretty much over barring some big moves and big miracles.

Has the highest point% of any active coach (.675 over Bednar (.635) and Cooper (.604) so unless you think Dubas has built a team that should be auto winning the cup like the 80's Oilers then I think we may be a little overcritical of the coach here.

Either Dubas is good and the coach sucks, or Dubas sucks and the coach should be a Jack Adams winner with those numbers but both can't be true.

He's also lost to CBJ and MTL in the playoffs. Bednar and Cooper also have some cups between them, never mind an actual playoff series win.

I definitely think that the team should auto win vs the Habs and Coyotes.

Both of the above statements are true.

I’m so annoyed that we missed out on Gallant & Cassidy. Keefe should have been fired after the Montreal series.

More pissed we missed out on Gorton.

Sure they can
Dubas was handed a playoff ready team and has done nothing but fail. He's made some good decisions but a lot of really bad ones!
Keefe, like his team, is a regular season coach who has no answers whatsoever in the playoffs when teams clog up centre. No PP either.

This season has a weird aura and stink around it. Just feels like we have a lame duck coach, GM and team. Could very well all unravel this summer

It could unravel much sooner IMO. If the rumours were true Keefe was close to being fired had they lost to Chicago last year, it might only take a few more embarrassing losses this year.

Gents like I have said for a few years now we have too many NICE guys on this team .. in hockey NICE guys finish last .. you need to be a bit of a prick to play on da edge and win .. once da players start running da show it is close to over for that coach/gm

This falls squarely on the shoulders of Shanny. Has anybody seen or heard from this guy lately ??

Maybe the other teams' best checkers and 2-way players are reducing the impact of the top 2 lines because a few players put their own contract greed over the need of having some dangerous players on the other 2 lines?

Luke Fox on Bourne and Kyper right now, he thinks that Keefe seems very tight and is under a lot of pressure right now.

Who knows even if it was Dubas who told him to straighten it out with the media, it has the appearance of the inmates being in charge. Can't say if this is true but if it is, its not a good thing in the least.

I know its early but hoping our top guys dont tune him out like they did with Babcock.

Not tuned out per say just not "understanding" words that their boss was saying to them, or maybe they could've been concentrating soley on not losing the count on their big humongous piles of cash they've been given for being players who are expected be the best players that the franchise has ever had, instead of looking disinterested for periods of time.
